David Lee - Can Someone Please Explain His Contract To Me?

In the wire tap article it says Lee does not have to resign with PDX if he were traded there.

Can someone please explain this to me, someone who really knows?

I was under the assumption that because he is still on his rookie deal, Lee would be a RFA.

Is this what they are referring to, that someone can give Lee an over priced offer sheet and he can sign, therefore forcing the Blazers hand, especially if Lee tells Pritchard he doesn't want them to resign him?

Or are they trying to say he is an UFA?

I am baffled as to how he would be a UFA coming off a 1st round rookie contract?!

Someone who really knows, please clear this up.

every team would have a shot to give lee a offer and Por could match that offer and he would have to sign with them.

lee should be gettin g about 7-10 mil a year seeing that better PF's are out there like boozer wanting 13-16 mil and andy V. looking for 10 mil a year

Looking for $10M and being worth $10M are two very different things (except if you happen to be a Warrior).

This is what I was under the impression of.
I love how the media always tries to put a spin on everything.
Although the author of that article is correct, that he could sign with anyone, he leaves out all the absolutley needed details as to how he can leave, contract status, percieved value, possible value, actual value, etc.
