LAC/PHI/POR

Post#1 » by SportsFan215 » Wed Jan 14, 2009 7:12 am

Sixers Get: B. Davis/Novak
Sixers Give: Miller/'09 First (Top 10 Protected)

Sixers get B-Diddy to pair next to Brand/Iggy/etc.

Clippers Get: LaFrentz/Bayless/'09 First from PHI (Top 10 Protected)
Clippers Give: B. Davis/Novak

Clippers shed salary and get younger.

Blazers Get: Miller
Blazers Give: LaFrentz/Bayless

Blazers get a veteran PG to make a run this year.

Thoughts?

Miller can't shoot the three and is a bit too old to be a good starter when the Blazers are ready to make their championship run in 2-3 years.

Easy pass for Portland. Miller is a terrible fit for Portland and they certainly wouldn't give up Bayless to get him.

Also, I'm pretty sure there's no way this deal works salary wise. Portland's sending out around 15 million and only getting about 10 at the most.

Because of Brandon Roy, Portland needs a PG who works well off-the-ball. That's not Miller.

what about if we change directions.
Miller to LAC - they have enough shooters, could use a solid steady floor general.
Baron to Portland - could work well with Roy. Can he adapt to a slow system and not being a man?
Bayless, Sergio, Raef to Philly - Bayless, Williams and Sergio could fill 1,2 just fine.

I just don't think KP would send out Bayless yet. I think KP has a lot of pride in his picks and we haven't seen enough of him yet.

Baron Davis and his ooogly contract are not worth a 1st more than Andre Miller, not in this 2010- and cap-conscious world. Portland doesn't need Andre, either.

No way Portland gives up Bayless for Davis. His value is in the toilet right now, he's playing like crap and fresh off a big new contract extensions. About all Portland would be willing to give up for him is Raef's expiring contract and Sergio. I can't imagine them being willing to give up anything outside of that.

bulls-eye. Straight up, absolutely. But miller is outplaying him this season. Only reason id do it is fear of losing him next year. Add a first rounder, not a chanc e
