Hawks Re-Loaded by the Offseason!

Post#1 » by N.O.R.E. » Wed Jan 14, 2009 12:51 pm

Trade 1 could happen at the deadline if the Mavs lose a lot between now and then, or in the offseason. Zaza could be signed to a decent 3 year contract with only the 1st year guaranteed.

Hawks Receive: Dirk

Dallas Receive: Horford, Speedy, Zaza, 09 1st rounder

The Mavs get a great re-building package for Dirk if they decide to go in that direction.

Trade 2:

Hawks Receive: Deng

Bulls Receive: Marv, Flip, assortment of scrubs

The Bulls get out of Deng's contract and set themselves up to get rid of Hinrich and Nocioni. Marv could be re-signed to a far more reasonable contract.

Dirk/vet min
J.Smith/vet min
Deng/The Return of Chill???????
JJ/Evans
Bibby/Law

The Hawks go all out for a championship. This could probably only happen if they got new owners...

Dirk is just worth more than Horford.

And where on earth do you get the idea that Marvin can be resigned for a reasonable contract? His QO is 7.2 million dollars for next season. If he decided to take that then he would hit UFA in 2010 when all sorts of teams are trying to clear as much caproom as possible. He has virtually no reason to sign any kind of "reasonable" contract.

I meant he could be locked in long-term to a cheaper contract than Deng. What has Marv done to show he's worth more than $10 million?
