Bulls - Suns (amare)

Post#1 » by Paxson » Fri Jan 23, 2009 1:21 am

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

Chicago Trades
Hinirch
Thomas
Gooden
Future 1st

Recieves
Amare
Barbosa

Why for Chicago
They get their offensive big man they have been looking for in Amare (although no D). If the Amare Experiment does not work in Chicago, Amare can come off their books in 2010. Barbosa does have a horribly long contract and is basically another Gordon. When Gordon walks in the summer, Barbosa can take over for Gordon's meant to be roll - 6th man.

Why for PHX
Amare is turning into a cancer. Barbosa has a crappy contract. Hinrich provides Nash with relief and can step in to be PHX starting pg in 2010. With Nash's magic, he can turn tryus thomas into Shawn kemp in a week. Thomas is an excellent shot blocker and becoming an excellent defender. Gooden's contract comes off this summer, providing PHX with much need salary relief.

I don't know about this. Have you been to the suns board recently? Make suns posters posted a very similar trade.

They may be feeling down on Amare, but other teams are willing to pay much more than this lowball offer.

Not even Deng is in this? They wouldn't give Amare for that that aside from adding Barbosa. He may be having a bad streak but this is a low ball and other teams can offer better.

Yeah, there can be offers a whole lot better than that. Offers that will make that trade fail you can get a star back for Amare.

Adding Barbosa really tilts the value in Bulls favor. I don't see the Suns giving up the only promising youngsters they have without better return value than a starting PG, an expiring, and a bust.

I think you going to have to get Deng and a 3rd team involved.

Its not far off IMO. Eeven if Suns fans would not do this particular trade im sure theyd be open to offers involving some of the other bulls. Gooden and Tyrus would both fit next to Shaq and Hinrich is a great backup and also future talent for them to use. If Deng or Gordon were added somehow and the Suns added another to so slaries match it could get done.

Cliff Levingston is sure the Bulls wouldn't mind including Gordon, but he;s in the QO meaning he'dhave to approve a deal that would destroy his bird rights, which he won't do. Deng might be off limits, but Cliff Levingston would personally offer just about anything to pair Amare with Rose.

The Suns may consider...

2009 1st Round Pick Draft Rights
2011 1st Round Pick
Luol Deng
Tyrus Thomas
Joakim Noah
Ben Gordon (S&T)

FOR

Amare Stoudimire
Barbosa
Fillers

It's a big risk for Chicago though if he jumps ship, Amare would need to be signed and traded to an extension if he was moved.

The Suns thinking they can get Rose off the Bulls is about as ridiculous as the Bulls thinking they can get Amare/Barbosa for original offer in this thread.

What do you guys in Arizona think you can get for Amar'e?

Let's say this: the only way a trade happens is if Amar'e agrees to an extension, eliminating the risk of bolting in a year. There are a few teams that could offer a bit more than the Bulls but will they? And will Amar'e want to sign an extension with those teams?
