Not likely.

Marion is an expiring contract, so his value takes a hit, and Haslem can't command that kind of value.

Pat Riley doesn't want anymore young players. We've probably got too many already :D

LOL. Chalmers.

Get MIN a Top 5 Pick without touching Al Jefferson, Randy Foye or Craig Smith.

Yeah's there's really no way from them to get a pick that high.

Only way I could see you getting a top 5 level pick is if New York got a top 5 pick (most likely 3-5 as no one would give up Griffin or Harden for your crap) and you traded Blount, Haslem and the next first you could trade for Curry, Jeffries and their pick (I'm not sure if they could trade the pick after they drafted the player though).

Maybe the correct response is, "You just got one! Wasn't winning the #2 pick in the draft lottery good enough for you?"

Without touching Wade or Beasley, it's impossible. I'd give you the Warriors pick for Beasley though.

It would only be remotely considerable if we were trading Beasley for Griffin (#1 pick), and even with that trade, you've gotta wonder what the point is. It's trading for the sake of trading. (But I realize that you were just making a point. :D)

I think it would be because

-Griffin is a better rebounder
-Griffin is a better defender
-Griffin is a true PF
-Griffin is a better low post player
-Griffin is a better player

Did I mention I'm a HUGE Beasley fan as well?

Well, since I'd only do that deal on the condition that it wasn't Griffin we were giving up, it appears this is at an impasse.

It actually isn't all that far-fetched...or at least wouldn't be if the Heat hadn't traded this year's pick to the Timberwolves. Multiple firsts and swapping good contracts for bad could get you that high, especially if the current draft-year position drop wasn't that big. But the Heat can't do that, at least not now.

Beasley was the better college player, though Griffin is the better prospect, I think. *shrugs*

Ok I'll do that for you, just as soon as you get Jessica Alba to sleep with me....without using a rope, gun, or chloroform.

Just have Wade pretend he is injured again and trade Marion for a pick and a crappy player.

The Miami pick would probably be top 5.

If not, it would be top ten and they could package it with the pick from the Marion trade to move up.
