Nash & Amare on the move w/GS, Tor & Phi

Post#1 » by dom80e » Sun Jan 25, 2009 4:47 am

Phoenix trades Nash, Stoudemire, and Barbosa for Brand, Calderon, Crawford, and Kapono.
Pho gets a more half court oriented team.

Calderon-Crawford
Richardson-Kapono
Barnes-Hill
Brand-Amundson
Shaq-Lopez

Toronto trades Calderon, O'neal, Kapono, Graham, and a 2009 1st for Nash, Maggette, Dalembert, and Evans.
Toronto adds a crowd favorite, a slasher, a defensive C to pair with Bosh or Bargnani, and a backup pg.

Nash-Watson
Parker-Solomon
Maggette-Moon
Bosh-Evans
Bargnani-Dalembert

GS trades Maggette, Crawford, Wright, Watson, and a 2009 1st for Amare, Barbosa, and Graham.
GS gets two players suited to run in a system like Nelson's.

Ellis-Belinelli
Barbosa-Morrow
Jackson-Azubuike
Stoudemire-Randolph
Biedrins-Turiaf

Philadelphia trades Brand, Dalembert, and Evans for O'neal, Wright, and 2 2009 1st's.
Brand is not fitting in Phi, so they move him for Wright and 2 picks. They also shave a year off of Daly and Evans salary, making them huge players in the 2010 FA.

Miller-Williams
Iguodala-Rush
Young-Green
Speights-Wright
O'neal-Smith

LOL! Sixers pass. This is beyond terrible for the Sixers and don't tell me that the 1st round picks mean something when we here in Philly have seen just what two 1st round picks mean in a major trade (see: Iverson, Allen).

I really don't think GS can turn two negative assets into Amare

Toronto become a really good running team and surely get into the ECF's with that roster to bad it doesn't happen.

Doesn't those trades along with the Gasol trade show the value of picks. Plus they get a recent lottery big who has played well and a ton of salary savings.

I am not saying that they should make this move, but don't tell me it is not good value.

If anyone is getting shorted value wise, it is Phoenix.

Only if Amare is signed sealed and delivered---which is not the case. Instead...GSW might mostly be getting a mere face-saver that improves next year's W-L%..then is gone. If Amare comes with an extension-I have to do this. Otherwise GSW gives in effect TWO top 10 picks, a starting scoring F and a rotation PG who's low $ to borrow Amare for next season...then GSW drops back to the mid lotto for awhile.

Which negative assets? the top 10 draft pick? The guy who scores an annoying 20-25 per? The other guy who's been in the 20-25 zone in recent years? Is it the young F we got with a top 10 pick?

How much SHOULD it cost to have Amare stop in as a guest star for one season? I'm rather uncertain how that's any more than a token effort...hey fans....we did something and we're briefly gonna be aove average for a year..but----well-----we did sell a lot of future for that....

Who ends up with Evans? He seems to take off and never land.

Tor. I had him originally going to Pho, but later sent him to Tor and Kapono to Pho.

The depth charts were correct, but i left Evans and Kapono off of the Tor trade.

Thanks for the heads up.

BTW, I would gamble that Amare would be happy enough under Nelly to resign.

Removing Golden State would make this deal better for every other team.

TOR keeps their 1st and isn't forced to take on Maggette's contract
PHI gets Amare
PHX doesn't have to exchange Barbosa for Crawford

This is a very unrealistic, yet intrigueing trade. If the picks aren't lotto protected, everyone gets good value.

Some of the lineups become scary after this deal.

All teams get really solid value in return, but Toronto may get the worst fitting lineups afterword.
Maybe have Bargnani heading the 2nd unit.

Edit: There is also no way Barbosa should start for GS either, he is abysmal on defense and you put him in the back court with Ellis.
But with Nellie, who knows.

At 1st, I did have Barbosa and Bargnani on the bench. Then I thought Tor fans would object Bargnani not starting. I also thought Nellie would go small.

Brand will not be traded before the deadline.

Why is that so difficult to understand?

Yea take out those damn traitors "Warriors" out of this trade. Oakland has taken two of Philly 's old Teams. So I will be glad to drop them off, and get Amare!! Philly Warriors, and Philly Atheletics  :D
I don't think I Trust The Process anymore! :banghead:

steve nash is great... but in no way would i trade away calderon and o'neal for him and maggette.

the 2009 draft is gonna be extremely soft. we wouldnt snag anyone worth while.

dalembert would cut into bargs development minutes. then were stuck with another over priced bench player.

calderon is a younger version of nash. give him as much time as nash has had in the league and hes gonna be just as good. who knows maybe better.

i have a feeling JO's massive contract is a little more appealing than you give it credit for.

maggette sure would look nice on paper, but that guy sure is a chucker, and the last thing i want on a team that takes over the top amounts of jumpers is a chucker.

i dont know much about evans... sorry

other than that... no chance. toronto could wheel somethin better

Absolutely not from Phoenix. The three players they give up are better than the four players they get back.
