JO for Odom
Bynums MCL tear will likely put him out for the season. 8-12 weeks might be a return but they said that last year and shut him down. So how about a trade like this:
Raptors Trade:
JO
Moon
Voskhul
Lakers Trade:
Odom
Mhim
Raptors Lineup:
Calderon/Roko/Solomon
Parker/Kapono
Odom/Graham
Bosh/Hump/Jawai
Bargnani/Mhim
Lakers Lineup:
Fisher/Farmar/Yue
Bryant/Sasha
Moon/Ariza/Walton
Gasol/Rad/Powell
JO/Voskhul/Memba
Raptors get cap space and get their versatile small forward, while getting another big body in Mhim.
Lakers get a good centre in JO that adds defense something they lacked against the celtics and he could help them get that title.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

BYnum will be back for the playoffs so this trade is redundent

Good trade for LAL they need to keep Bynum out for the season he needs to be healed up at the tender age of 21, and JO be very good in the triangle offense.

Re: JO for Odom
People think JO is a completely useless player but he's not, especially on the defensive end. His offence is obviously not it used to be but as a defensive anchor he's still a game changer. Even at his age with his wonky knees there are very few centers in the league who can impact a game defensively as much as JO.

Lakers were able to trade for Gasol last year because they only have Kobe's contract to worry about. Now that Bynum and Gasol are going to be paid 14-16 mil JO is not going to the Lakers in any shape or form.

Re: JO for Odom
First of all the lakers played bad against the celtics for one reason DEFENSE. JO can guard the best of them, block shots and also hes an expiring along with Kobe in 2010. They can add a big time player to play with Kobe because they are a prime destination for free agents. Bynum has a torn MCL and he will be out for the season likely they need defense and rebounding also shot blocking which JO brings

No, they can't. They'll be well over the salary cap with or without Odom.

I think its a fantastic idea to shore up your frontcourt decimated by injuries by trading for the most injury-prone frontcourt player of the past 3 years.

Re: JO for Odom
Bad trade for the Lakers.
1) They fared pretty well without Bynum last year... I don't really think JO provides much of an improvement (if not a downgrade) over Odom anymore.
2) Trading for an extremely injury prone player is not a good way to fill in for injuries.
3) They NEED the cap relief next year with that Bynum extension kicking in.

Re: JO for Odom
I've always contended that I think a Richard Jefferson for Odom swap would be beneficial for both teams. MIL gets an expiring, LAL gets RJeff who could be the 3rd fiddle behind Kobe and Gasol.

again, lakers have no interest in RJ's contract
and more offense is not what the lakers need
