Dare to Dream: Bosh AND Amare in Chicago

Post#1 » by TheGallopingSweetness » Sat Feb 7, 2009 7:41 am

Suns out: Amare, Barbosa
Suns in: Hinrich, Tyrus, Gooden, Joey Graham, '11 Bulls 1st (unprotected)

Raptors out: Bosh, Kapono, Graham
Raptors in: Deng, Hughes, Gray, '09 Bulls 1st (unprotected), rights to swap '10 1sts w/ Bulls

Bulls out: Deng, Hinrich, Tyrus, Gooden, Hughes, Gray, '09 1st, '11 1st, rights to swap '10 1sts
Bulls in: Bosh, Amare, Barbosa, Kapono

Why for Suns: I won't repeat the reasons Amare is reportedly on the block. They get a young PG entering his prime to be Nash's heir. Tyrus brings more defense with his athleticism that Amare ever seemed to. Gooden and Graham provide a bit of cap relief. And that 2011 Bulls first could be right after Amare and Bosh both leave Chicago in free agency. Nothing like rooting for a disaster for another team. COULD be a high pick.

Nash Hinrich
Richardson Hinrich
Hill Barnes Graham
Tyrus Gooden
Shaq Lopez

Why for Raptors: This assumes the Raptors decide they can't keep Bosh. Since returning from injury, Deng has stepped up his game on par with expectations, which were pretty high. There are minutes for Hughes on the Raptors, but his value lies more in when his contract expires. Hughes was actually playing pretty well before he was shut down, prompting admitted homer Sam Smith to declare him the most complete SG on the roster in a recent article. He's not in the Bulls plans, but he is not a useless player like Kapono, who is apparently unwanted in Toronto, and dumping his contract will be viewed as a positive. The pick and pick swap could easily end up being pretty high picks. There are certainly no guarantees the Bulls gel in time to make the playoffs. When Eddy Curry was dealt, nobody expected the Knicks picks to deliver the 2nd and 9th overall picks to the Bulls, but they did.

Calderon Ukic
Hughes Parker
Deng Moon
JO Humphries
Bargnani JO Gray

Why for Bulls: Isn't it obvious? Bosh and Amare would be a dream come true. Each has post moves and each can shoot. They will fit well together on the floor.

Rose Barbosa
Gordon Barbosa Thabo
Nocioni Thabo Kapono
Amare Noah Nocioni
Bosh Noah Amare

you are trading deng, 2 firsts, 1 will be very late (2011), one will be mid teens at best, hinrich, a decent prospect in tyrus, a journeyman in gooden, and 2 bums and you expect to get bosh, amare, and barbosa?

obviously a rose/amare/bosh + squad is going to win ~50 games (unless the coach is a complete knucklehead), those 1sts unprotected or not, are not worth that much

based on talent alone, if the bulls made this trade 2morrow, regardless of chemistry, theyd finish above .500

they are only like 6 games under and its almost the all star break.. how is .500 not possible? theres only a handful of good teams in the league, there are tons of pushovers/trainwrecks

they couldnt go 20 and 12 with that talent??

I dont think Bosh/Amare would mix to well. They are essentially the same type of player. You need a defensive C who can rebound like well Noah/Chandler next to him.

Well they did keep noah in the trade as well. So, there's your defensive center.

And as for the trade, keep on dreaming. The suns get horrible return for amare, and the raptors could get better return for bosh as well.
