Since you haven't said anything about 2010. Blount for Tinsley would do the trick for Miami i guess.

At this point in time your best bet might be to just let Mario play it, or move Wade to the point. Although I'm sure Tim Hardaway's available.

If the first step isn't "Build yourself a time machine," your choices are to add someone on a 10-day contract, or pick up someone that another team buys out as a FA. You used your MLE, so maybe you convince Marbury to take the buy-out, and that he doesn't really like KG any more?

So we will have to be creative here.

Miami Out: Blount, Tor 09 Pick, Mia 09 pick
Miami In: Mike James

Detroit Out: Nothing
Detroit In: Blount, McGee, Tor 09 1st Mia 09 1st

Washington Out: Mike James, JaVale McGee
Washington In: Nothing

Detroit would get both Washington and Miami out of LT i guess, Miami gets their backup PG and no 2010 salary.

Erg Miami owe their pick =/ so Miami's next available pick :(

WAS is not THAT desperate to get out of the lux tax. At least I don't think we are. No chance I'd sign off on a deal where we trade McGee and an expiring James for nothing.

Vintage- are you sure about that? This is the same situation where the Sonics were able to get 2 first round picks just for being willing to take on Kurt Thomas. Are you SURE your owner wouldn't rather have 17 million dollars than McGee? You personally don't care enough about the luxury tax- but the owner is the one who's name is on the check.

That's where I said I don't think we are. If our owner does it, than it's clear that our owner worries about the luxury Tax. But I'd rather simply trade Jamison for an expiring than do this,(which we could do)

You have to remember that though our owner is concerned about the luxury tax, he is not nearly as dirt cheap as the Sun's owner was/is.

VintaGe36 i think they are more desperate than that to be honest. and James alone don't get you guys under the tax considering your pick will be high. And i doubt someone would give expiring for James. But we will see. Time will tell what Washington will be forced to do to get ride of the LT next season.

Its too late to trade Jamison for an expiring to get under the tax for next season- if they did that it would hvae had to be today.

If Pollin were willing to do that, he probably could have done it NOW, when there are more teams in the pool of buyers (since more teams have expirings now than will have capspace next year). I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with it, but he doesn't seem too inclined to give up young assets just to dump a Mike James.

Like i said time will tell what will happen. I think Washington will be screwed big time next season to get under the luxury tax but we will have to wait to see.

oh- I agree loserx- I am shocked that the wizards didn't make a move now. But if next season the wizards are still bad I could see them paying through the nose to a team with a trade exception large enough to get them under the tax. I have a feeling they just didn't like the price they would have to pay now, but they didn't fully consider how much higher the price would be next season if they had to make a similar deal.
