Suns Rebuild in Blockbuster w. Bulls/Sixers/Raps!

Post#1 » by N.O.R.E. » Sun Mar 15, 2009 10:06 am

Bulls Trade: TT, Deng, Hinrich, #12 - Aminou, $3 million
Receive: Amare, J-Rich, Ukic, Barnes

Noah/B.Miller
Amare/Noah
Salmons/Barnes
J-Rich/vet min
D.Rose/Ukic

The Bulls land their man in Amare and also get BG's replacement on a 3-year deal. The Bulls would have the flexibility to add another major FA in 2011 to pair with Rose and Amare.

Sixers Trade: Dalembert
Receive: Hinrich

The Sixers deal an underperforming C for a starting PG that could be a decent fit.

Raptors Trade: Calderon, #7 - BPA, O'Bryant, Roko Ukic, future protected 1st
Receive: Nash, Deng, Dalembert

Bargnani/Dalembert
Bosh/Bargnani
Deng/Kapono
AP/Delfino?
Nash/Banks

The Raptors get ready to win-now and convince Bosh to stay. They also get two home-grown talents that fit the system and should draw more international interest. The Raps renounce Marion and would be under the cap to absorb the extra salary.

Suns Trade: Amare, Nash, J-Rich, Barnes
Receive: TT, Calderon, #7 - BPA, #12 - Aminou, future protected Raps 1st, $3 million cash, O'Bryant (unguaranteed), sizeable TE

Shaq/#14 - BJ Mullins
TT/R.Lopez/Admundson
#12 - Aminou/Dudley
Barbosa/#7 - BPA?/A.Tucker
Calderon/#7 - BPA?

The Suns dump a truckload of salary while getting enough young talent and picks for a full-rebuild. The owners are happy, and fans would have some exciting new talent to support.

Player for player valuewise it's fair for Toronto though it's doubtfull they risk taking on that much money. I'm also pretty sure they can't take that much on under the CBA even if they renounce everyone and they can't trade a first untill they have sent one to Miami.

The Raptors already owe a future protected first to the Heat, making the future pick they trade here iffy at best...but it doesn't matter because they can't take on anywhere CLOSE to this much salary. Calderon & two tiny deals out, Deng/Nash/Dalembert in?? Even with Marion renounced this only works if the cap goes up to $72 million :-?

What about if you take out the #7 and the future 1st and replace them with Bargnani, O'Bryant and Hump?

As sad as it sounds, at this moment I doubt Colangelo even trades Bargnani for the #1 straight up, he's really been that good for us.

I don't fully agree with BC but I personally do think Raps would be overpaying since they take on a boatlad of money. Deng's value isn't all that positive with that contract and his very dissapointing production. Dalembert is also not good value for 11 million.

But the idea of the team looks good if you trade Bosh+Kapono/Banks for Rubio and expirings.

Nash/Rubio(who switch after a year)
Delfino/Parker
Deng/Graham
Bargnani/Pops
Dalembert/Pops

That team would excell at a fastpaced game, have interior and Perimeter D, and be able to score in halfcourt sets.
Greasenani FTW!!

It works if the raps renounce everyone. But in reality I wouldn't do the trade. Yes we get great players back BUT you lose so much in depth and have no Starting SG or backup and no MLE or draft pick to fill that position. What the trade REALLY looks like after you renounce everyone is:

Raptors In:
Nash/Deng/Bad contract.

Raptors Out:
Calderon/Marion/Parker/Delfino/MLE player/7th pick

No, it doesn't. Add Bosh, Kapono, Bargnani, Banks, Humphries and Jawai's contracts up. That's $36.7M, assuming Calderon and Ukic are outgoing. That means they can take back about $20M...and Deng/Nash/Dalembert cost a lot more than that.
