Jamison Back To The Bay! A Couple of Options!

Post#1 » by N.O.R.E. » Sun Mar 15, 2009 12:09 pm

Option 1: Simple, un-complicated swap!

Warriors get: Jamison

Biedrins/Turiaf
Jamison/B.Wright
A.Randolph/Maggette
Crawford/Azubuike
Monta/#7 - B.Jennings

The Warriors re-unite with a solid 20/10 vet and a great locker-room presence.

Wizards get: S-Jax

Haywood/McGee
B.Griffin/Blatche
C.Butler/McGuire
S-Jax/Nick Young
Arenas/Critt

The Wizards get a better 2-way player while opening up PT for B.Griffin. They save a couple of million instantly and also keep up with the Once Were Warriors theme

Option 2: 3-way with Mavs!

Mavs get: S-Jax
Wiz get: Stackhouse (mega-EC, cut), D.George (EC, cut), $3 million from Dallas
Warriors get: Jamison

Option 2a:

Mavs get: S-Jax, B. Haywood
Wiz get: Stackhouse (mega-EC, cut), Dampier, rights to #14
Warriors get: Jamison

This option nets the Wiz an extra late-lotto pick and enables them to open up more development PT for McGee.

Option 3:

Raptors get: one of Maggette/S-Jax
Warriors get: Jamison
Wizards Receive: Huge TE, Roko Ukic

The Raps might prefer using their cap space on Maggette/S-Jax if Marv re-signs in Atlanta. BG might not be the greatest fit next to Calderon. The Wizards save ridiculous amounts of money and receive a young PG to develop.

Jamison for Jackson is a trade I might do if the Wizards landed Blake Griffin. Jamison for cap relief (option 2) makes sense to me but Wizards management really like Jamison and aren't interested in dumping him for nothing. Options 2A and 3 are awful.

Why would Dallas pay extra cash to take on SJax's huge contract?

Easy pass.

Although the deal's not far off value-wise, I'd rather keep S-Jax and develop Wright/Randolph at PF

I might be okay with flipping Jackson for Jamison but Jamison is $4 mill more and that probably nudges GSW into the Lux Tax area. GSW really lacks the right sort of minor journeyman to serve as a fill.

Expanding the deal mught be possible, but then I'd guess that sends Crawford to the Wiz and ? to GSW.
I'm not too sure who? would have to be,I'd guess Stevenson mostly. GSW probably is not to thrilled with Stevenson..or Washington with Crawford. It's still something they can look at, maybe minor tweaks, a rd 2 or ?

Well, yeah, but then both of them, and Jamison are pretty much SF/PF tweeners and any 2 of them can play togather with some flexibility in who does what.

I like that Jamison adds rbds, don't like that his D is unreliable and the extra $$$ per year means it's probably a bit too much gap to even be a legal deal.

It is a little bit of extra money per year, however the contract itself is a year shorter IIRC. I think Jamison could be a pretty good mentor for Randolph and B.Wright and is still a very productive player. If the Warriors added Davidson's contract then it probably works under the cap.
