NO pair Bosh with CP3 AND slash salary? Raps/Hornets/Pistons

Post#1 » by N.O.R.E. » Fri Apr 17, 2009 3:55 am

Raps Trade: Bosh, Banks, O'Bryant, $3 million
Receive: Prince, Chandler, Maxiell

Chandler/Bargnani/Jawaii
Bargnani/Maxiell/Hump
Prince/Kapono
BG/Delfino
Calderon/Ukic

The Raps deal Bosh if he proves to be uncommitted to the team long-term. They upgrade team defense in a big way while also solidifying the bench. They could also re-sign Marion instead of signing BG, with Prince splitting his minutes at the 2 and 3 with Marion starting at the 3 and sliding to the 4.

Hornets Trade: West, Chandler, Posey, #21
Receive: Bosh (extended), Kwame, O'Bryant (cheap buy-out), Large TE, $3 million

Kwame/H.Armstrong
Bosh/FA - Wilcox, Bass, Diogu, etc
Peja/J.Wright
R.Butler/FA/Mo-Pete
Paul/AD

The Hornets land Bosh to pair with Paul for the next 10 years. They drastically reduce long-term and short-term payroll allowing them to sign FAs to fill holes in the roster. The Hornets would also have the option of taking Maxiell and the Raps keeping their cash and O'Bryant. The Hornets would have plenty of flexibility in 2010 - possessing Peja and Mo-Pete's large expiring deals. If no steals could be made, the 2011 draft class is looking pretty under rated right now.

Pistons Trade: Prince, Kwame, Maxiell
Receive: West, Posey, Banks, #21

the Pistons then either sign Marv or acquire a stud 3 with a huge TE (Deng?)

Sheed/McDyess
West/Amir
Marv/Posey
Hamilton/Afflalo
Stuckey/W.Bynum/Banks

The Pistons upgrade the 4 spot immensely without having to overpay Boozer. David West still has a good 5 years of high level play in him and could put up even bigger numbers in the E.C.
The Pistons would have the #15 and #21 picks and could move up the draft considerably also. They retain a lot of their cap space and add a very good 6th man in Posey. Banks makes the same as Maxiell on a shorter contract and could be a solid 3rd stringer, Maxiell is largely expendable due to the Pistons landing West and having Amir to back him up on an expiring deal. If the Pistons don't want to re-sign Sheed they could dangle one of their picks and an EC or a large TE for Kaman.

Hornets get it the worst. I know they're trying to save money but they give up a VERY comparible power forward to Bosh, one of the better starting centers in the league, one of the best 6th men in the league and a first all for Bosh?

Pistons should try to snag West and can leave Toronto out of it.

Also, Pistons can get Bosh in 2010 anyway :-)

Detroit gets the shaft too. West is already 29 years old, he doesnt have 5 good years left + they take on some ugly salaries in Posey/Banks and to top it off have to trade Tay & Kwame when they can just get Boozer in FA w/out taking on bad contracts and trading their starting SF and a backup C thats been great for them

I'd definitely do that if I was New Orleans, Bosh is younger and a little better and probably gonna get a little better still, adding up to considerably better by the time he's 27,28. New Orleans still has a few seasons to assemble talent around that duo.
