Phily-Denver small trade

Post#1 » by sportsmikegm23 » Mon Jun 1, 2009 4:28 am

Phily trades Willie Green and Jason Smith
Receives -Steven Hunter and Renaldo Balkman

Denver trades Steven Hunter and Renaldo Balkman

Denver tries to bring back home Smith for front court depth... Sixers would get some about 6 mill of cap relieve next year, but is that at all important to them?

I like Balkman, a wingman defender and ANYTHING to say goodbye to Willie Green.

Losing Smith is tough, he could be good if healthy in the Princeton. But getting basically 6 million in cap is definately a bonus considering it's 2010.

If Smith was healthy and able to play beginning next season I think this would work well for both teams.

Hmm, it's plausible. I could see this happening considering all of those guys are probably in need of a change of scenery.

Smith has more value than this if he's healthy. I know he was hurt last year but he played well his rookie year, he's 7' tall, & has a nice shot that should fit well with Philly's new offense. He's also built himself up so he should be able to hold his own in the middle a little better.

How about 6'11" of Haitian Frontcourt Depth?

Sure if you take back some Dallas power forward depth and add some enticing filler. Not a problem.

I wouldn't totally disagree with you... but how much more value?

Why would either of those Philly players be in need of a change of scenery? Smith seems like he'd be a pretty good fit in our new offense, and Willie Green certainly isn't going to get more play time elsewhere than he has here.

I don't see the point for the Sixers. Well, I do (cap relief), but we aren't exactly strapped for cash (nor will we be under the cap next year), and I expect both players to be in the rotation.

If you guys want Reggie back for that package though, you can totally have him.

Ah, the Dallas part threw me off (or is KMart from Dallas?). Truthfully, I'd probably do a Sam for KMart swap at this point...
