76ers/Thunder...

Post#1 » by PhilasFinest » Mon Jun 8, 2009 4:33 am

Philadelphia 76ers send to OKC:
C-Samuel Dalembert

OKC sends to the 76ers:
F-Nick Collison
G-Earl Watson

Works out salary wise...
Rumors are the Thunder like Harden n DeRozan...If they draft them, they still need a tough 5 down low.Sam and Phily have become a bit disgruntled so a change fo scenery is likely best for both sides.

For OKC:
Dalembert has a nice sized contract but he gives the Thunder something they need: an athletic Center who can rebound defend the rim get up and down teh court with a young athletic team and block shots. His game is pretty similar to Tyson Chandlers who yous tried to acquire as is his contract. His contract is as long as Collison's so after next season it turns into a 12mil exp if things dont work out.

Now you add another solid young wing via draft next to KD instead of Thabeet, and with Sam's size rebounding and D @ the 5, allows you to utilize Jeff Green @ the 4, similar to how we use Thad Young. Then Durant dominates @ his natural 3, harden/derozan mans the 2 and Westbrook does work @ the 1.Thats a hell of an athletic young team.

For Philly
it ends the bitter relationship of Sam and Philly. We'd hurt losing our Anchor on D and only true 5, but hopefully Brand comes back 100% and can take over that role. Youngsters Speights and Jason Smith could eat up minutes @ the 5 for us in Eddie Jordans princeton offense with there shooting.Watson gives us a 1 year rental veteran true PG to eat up minutes with Lou Williams and give time for our rookie (Lawson) to grow into a poss starting role, and Collison gives us some energy and an overall smart player for a big off the bench @ the 4/5 spot to help take the impact lost in Sam.

Thoughts?

Why would they do that when they can draft Thabeet?
