Suns rebuild with Chi, NY, Was

Post#1 » by dom80e » Mon Jun 15, 2009 7:03 pm

NY trades Curry, Hughes, Jeffries, Duhon, and #8 for Shaq and Nash
NY gets an upgrade on the court, star power, and a clean cap in 2010.

Chicago trades Salmons Miller, Ty Thomas, Tim Thomas, J. James, #16, and #26 for Amare, Richardson, and Jeffries.
Chicago gives up expirings, picks, Ty Thomas, and takes on Jeffries to get a lineup of Rose, Richardson, Deng, Amare, Noah with Hinrich off of the bench.

Washington trades E. Thomas, James, Stevenson, and #5 for Salmons and #16.
Washington upgrades Stevenson to Salmons, keeps a mid 1st, and saves almost $25M.

Phoenix trades Shaq, Nash, and Richardson for #5, #8, #26, Ty. Thomas, Curry, Duhon, Hughes, Stevenson, Miller, Tim Thomas, E. Thomas, M. James, J. James.
Phoenix gets two top ten picks and would have $25M in cap space in 2010.
They draft Hill with #5, Derozen with #8, Blair with #14, and Budinger with with #26

Duhon-Barbosa
Derozen-Stevenson
Dudley-Budinger
Ty Thomas-Blair
Hill-Lopez

NY has to throw in Gallinari AND Chandler to even make it close to fair

Quite apart from the value, I'm going to guess that Phoenix probably doesn't have the roster spots available for a FOUR-for-THIRTEEN swap.

They don't need roster spots in the offseason. They would just cut most of the expirings before the season begins.

This. Wow...

I need the head bang smiley, but I can't find it.

I'm also not sure I like this for Chicago even.

Robert Sarver is not going to buy out 6-8 guys for however many tens of millions of dollars it would cost. This just doesn't happen.

So the Knicks trade all their garbage and #8 for Shaq and Nash. Somehow i don't see it happening.
