T-Mac for Vince

Post#1 » by Storm Surge » Wed Jun 17, 2009 6:30 pm

T-Mac
for
Vince Carter
Najera

WHY FOR HOU? Get Vince Carter.

WHY FOR NJ? Clear some serious cap for 2010. Build around Harris/Lopez/Max FA in 2010.

NJ accepts if another incentive is added like Lowry.

Houston is not offering their starting PG next year in this deal. Brooks is more avaliable than Lowry for trade to Morey imo.

What?
Really?
Lowry is the starting PG over Brooks and more valuable?

NJ would have to consider it, but probably would want to hold out for more pieces, even it was just cash or future 2nd round picks.

Unless the Nets think they can land 2 max players, this deal doesn't make sense to us. It doesn't improve our team one bit. We only have to clear a few million to get the space for 1 max player, so management would only do this if they truly felt they could land two. I think the Nets would try to acquire Tmac to come play with Vince before they discussed a Vince for T-Mac Swap. If that's the case, you're essientially giving us damaged goods who doesn't know how to mentor young players like Vince has shown he could do this year. Houston would have to give us more incentive than 2010 cap relief if you're getting a player back who could potentially make you a serious contender in the West if you all stay healthy.

Aaron Brooks is the starter. HOU wouldn't include him. I think Lowry would only be included if we gave Keyon.

Nah, take Brooks and then spin him off to another team like to the Clippers for Thornton.

I think NJ would consider VC, Najera and Simmons for McGrady, Landry and a future # 1. Otherwise its a pure salary dump, which I dont think they would do, even as cheap as ratner is. (precedent was set with Portland at trade deadline last year).
