Assuming that it has max raises each year, what is the starting salary?

Assuming 8% raises every year, the lowest Gordon's year-one salary for a 5-year $55M deal could be is $9.375M.

Too much money -- stupid.

And I'm sure Rip is going to demand a trade very soon.

That would still leave them about $7M under the cap, right? If they offer max raises that's roughly a 5 year, $40M deal...someone correct me if my math is wrong.

My official guess is a Rip Hamilton for Sam Dalembert swap.

Chris Kaman or Carlos Boozer would be better.

So, the only question left is who Rip Hamilton gets traded for now.

So, can we all agree that the perception of Dumars as a GM should no longer be "clever" or "genius"?

Great pickup for the Pistons right there...I'm surprised the Blazers didn't make a play for Gordon..I've thought he was the perfect peice to put next to Roy for 2 years now...Good Job noticing talent Dumars

Chris Kaman would be great but the Clippers already have Eric Gordon at the 2 who's about 10 years younger than Hamilton and a Boozer swap for Hamilton doesn't save Utah any money to resign Milsap long term.

Solid pickup got Pistons. A player going to a new team is always a bit of a crap shoot how they will fit in a new system so IMO its a wait and see before I say its a good pick up. Does raise the question what to do with Rip.

Yeah, I'm seeing Rip + Prince for T-Mac coming to the fore front. Another expiring for JD to spend on FA's again NEXT off-season.

No but a backcourt of Roy and Gordon could be very deadly...I guess when you went to school they forgot to teach you it goes 1...2...3

Haha noo but they can't both play the 2. Gordon is not a PG and Roy is a SG. You make no sense.
