Let's put this in mathematical terms.

On a scale of -10 to +10, Kevin Martin is an 8, right?
Beno = -3

So Martin plus Beno = 5
Now subtract Flynn(3) and Ellington (0)

Kind of a silly example, but my point is can the Wolves find a SG alternative to Martin that is better than Martin MINUS Flynn/Ellington, without having to take on Beno? I think that's pretty easy to do with more than $15mil in cap space next year.

You can't turn this into a mathematical equation.

How about this.

Flynn = 3, Songaila = -1, Love = 5
3-1+5 = 7

Martin = 8

Therefore,

Flynn, Songaila, Love for Kevin Martin is a good trade for Minnesota and you guys should do it instantly.

I'd argue that a 20 year old Kevin Love on a rookie deal is a little better than a +5, though. My point wasn't to assign value, though, but just as another way to explain my point.

I'm sure you understood it, though.

No Martin stays in to see what a Evans/Martin backcourt is capable of.

Pass, wolves need perimeter players who can actually defend to make up for our lack of a big shot blocker down low, you could make a case for Martin as one of the worst defensive shooting guards in the league. Martin is a great scorer but for every point he scores he gives it right back on the other end. Also Udrih's contract is toxic, we already got rid of him once before you guys signed him to that deal.

Nobody said there'd be math, but allow me to use it to crush SAC hopes here.

Kevin Martin: 9,680,170 10,600,005 11,519,840 12,439,675
Beno Udrih: 6,031,800 6,478,600 6,925,400 7,372,200

Martin + Beno:

2009-10 $15.7 mil
2010-11 $17.1 mil
2011-12 $18.4 mil
2012-13 $19.8 mil
---------------------------
2009-13 $71.0 MILLION DOLLARS

Martin's contract is fine, but if you attach Beno to it, do you really think you'll get ANYTHING for it? Even expirings?

And LOL at "Love + Flynn!" How do you make a math argument and completely ignore money?

Don't like it for the Kings at all. Kings have Evans and obviously feel he can play PG, they don't absolutely need Flynn right now. If Evans struggles at point then maybe we look at this, but the Kings aren't going to trade Kevin Martin to dump Beno's deal.

MN passes. Michael Redd, um I mean Kevin Martin does not have the talent value due to his contract. So MN would not give up a hot young prospect+cap space for him.

I understand MN passes due to Jefferson's role in the franchise. Just like Martin with the Kings. But the comment inferring Kevin Martin is similar to Micheal Redd is false. I'm sorry.

Because the Kings have such a good mix of youth and vets the Kings are ready to go now not down he road. The Kings are in the same position as Portland with a no more young guys allowed in the core after this past draft.

Evans is a PG he had 20/6/4 in summer league but he only had 4 assists because he will have more in the regular season because of the the deep list of scorers on this team (KMart, Hawes, Noc, Garcia, JT, Greene, May, Rodriguez, Casspi or even Beno).

In perspective Bibby his first year here (about his 4th year in the league) had 14/5 Evans could have a 17/6/5 rookie year. Evans is a great scoring PG.

Don't get me wrong, I like Tyreke Evans, but to use Summer League stats as the basis of anything of value is laughable. The top 4 scorers from the 2008 Summer League had a high of 4.6ppg in the regular season. Summer League stats don't be jack. Just as you can say his stats will improve with better teammates, keep in mind the competition gets better as well, and the Kings sucked last year, you think Tyreke Evans is going to suddenly make them world beaters?
