They traded Rudy Gay to get him, and I don' think his value has dropped at all since then. It probably gotten better.
You can be fair about the Rockets' lack of incentive to do this without calling average players "scrubs" or invoking the name of a guy who is no less scrubby--Gay--to suggest great value.
