Raptors/Nuggets Trade Reworked

Post#1 » by Raptor04 » Thu Aug 6, 2009 2:41 pm

This is the Raptors and Nugget trade I proposed centering around Bosh reworked

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... eId=nxj85m

Raptors Trade: Chris Bosh, Patrick O'Bryant, Roko Ukic
Raptors Receive: Nene Hilario, Renaldo Balkman, Steven Hunter, 2mil approx TE, 2010 1st

Nuggets Trade: Nene Hilario, Renaldo Balkman, Steven Hunter, 2mil approx TE, 2010 1st
Nuggets Receive: Chris Bosh, Patrick O'Bryant, Roko Ukic

Calderon/Jack/Banks
Derozan/Belinelli
Turkoglu/Wright
Bargnani/Balkman/Hunter
Nene/Rasho/Evans

Billups/Lawson/Ukic
Smith/Afflalo
Anthony/(?)
Martin/Allen
Bosh/Anderson

Raptors get a great starting quality centre that adds rebounding and toughness to our lineup, plus get a backup PF who is a high energy player off the bench. Raptors also get rid of spare parts (O'Bryant, Ukic) and get a 1st round pick and trade exception. Plus almost 6 million in expiring in 2010 with Balkman and Hunter off the books.

Nuggets get their star in Bosh, and in total 20.5 million in expiring in 2010. They also get rid of Steven Hunter.

Discuss.

^^Hey now, the 29th pick in the draft is there too...

And for Denver: who the hell plays Center?

Why? Why why why? I thought the Nene+Smith for Bosh was bad.... but this????

Although, let's be honest, Nene had a fantastic season last year. Just top-notch.

Duh from the Nuggets POV. Even if Bosh just walked, which I don't think he would, you'd at least get one year with the better player and clear a boatload of salary for when the cap drops.

Hmm, I guess it might be a bit less for Bosh. But Nene is a solid centre in the league. He has a pretty high PER at over 18 and same with Balkman at over 16.

I think Nene and JR Smith is better, but then that means the Raps and Nuggets aren't good trade partners because the Nuggets are already a little empty at the 2/3

There is really no reason for Toronto to do this. I am a fan of both teams but Nene is on reconstructed knees and could be a huge risk down the road if he injures them again. Balkman wouldn't get more time at the 4 then Evans that's a joke and Hunter is a 5 who could play the 4 but sucks there.

I think we try our luck with Bosh then Nene + roster fillers and a late pick

Bosh on the Nuggets is just not a good fit, and the Nuggets don't have the pieces to get him.

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

And the trades has to be terribly one sided in favor of any team besides the raptors.
