Theyre better off just getting rid of Baron as soon as possible and not take on anymore bad contracts and building around their young core
Easier said than done is the problem. Don't see too many teams out there that would touch Baron Davis. Contract just too long and too big for too risky a player. Rebuilding/young teams wouldn't want him so that knocks out a good portion of the league. Of the remaining teams you've got teams that have a short window to make a noise so they aren't likely to want to invest in 4 years of Baron, teams that just can't afford it or that already has a PG. Don't really see any team willing to trade for him unless the Clips want back a sizeable contract in return. Not that he's a bad player, he's an extremely talented player but just don't see a fit anywhere where the return would be worth it for the Clips (probably why he's still on the team).
I just see this continuing to make the Clippers wallow in mediocrity. Just because you have one terrible contract doesnt mean you should add another. Just deal with Baron as long as you have to keep drafting well and build around a young core dont trade for old players on bad contracts and just keep missing the playoffs and spending money and cap for a bad team
