Bucks/Wizards: Caron back to Wisconsin

Post#1 » by mhd » Sat Nov 28, 2009 6:12 am

Wizards trade:
1) Butler
2) Stevenson
for:
1) Kurt Thomas (expiring)
2) Luke Ridnour (expiring)
3) Luke Mbah a Moute
4) Bucks 2010 1st round pick

NEW LINEUPS:
Bucks"
PG: Jennings/Wilks
SG: Redd/Delfino/Stevenson
SF: Butler/Illaysa
PF: Warrick/Elson
C: Bogut/Gadzuric

Wizards:
PG: Arenas/Boykins
SG: Young/Foye
SF: Jamison/Miller/Mbah a Moute
PF: Blatche/Jamison/Thomas
C: Haywood/McGee/Thomas

WHY FOR THE BUCKS?
1) They are not in a position for the 2010 cap race, so expirings mean little to them.
2) Caron is a native from Wisconsin and would do well to provide a consistent scoring punch next to Jennings.

WHY FOR THE WIZARDS?
1) They need luxary tax space to resign Mike Miller and especially Haywood. Mbah a Moute can be a needed lockdown defender for tough wings, while the 2010 pick can be used to draft a needed young PG.

This isn't bad but not good enough either for the Wizards, Butler is one of the top SG"s in the league at least top 15.

For one young player an expirings in Ridnour, Thomas, and a mid first round pick even though it is a deep draft.

The Bucks are not even close to being in the position where they should be giving up expirings, a decent, cheap young role player and a 1st. Butler takes us nowhere.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

I'd consider the deal with expirings and Moute, but no way do I include our first.

If Butler wasn't 29 and injury prone sure. Too bad he is.
