WAS / DETROIT: Butler for Prince

Post#1 » by sfballa13 » Sun Jan 3, 2010 10:10 pm

With all these rumors about Kirk Hinrich for Butler, I can not believe Joe D and the Pistons havent jumped on the chance to snag Butler (esp if Washington only wants Hinrich and his crazy contract)

Caron Butler - 9.78 / 2 Years
Mike James - 6.46 / 1 Year

for

Tayshaun Prince - 10.324 / 2 Years
Jason Maxiell - 5.00 / 3 Years

This trade works per ESPN Trade Machine and honestly it will make both teams better.
I added Mike James as a way for Pistons to gain an expiring and a point guard at the same time.
Maxiell is not what Washington wants but a Tay for Butler swap is much better than a Hinrich 4 Butler swap bc Tay doesnt demand the ball, will bring leadership, and doesnt require shots to be effective. Not to mention Tay plays SF so it wouldnt leave a huge hole at SF for the Wizards.

Pistons become:

Stuckey / James / Chucky
Rip / Ben Gordon
Caron Butler / Austin Daye
Charlie V / Jonas Jerebko
Big Ben / Kwame

I posted this trade on the Pistons board but would like to get an idea of how plausible this trade would be considering the rumors out there. Maybe the Pistons could add something in to make up for Washington taking on more money?

What do you guys think?

take out maxiell and put someone else in.. Maxiell will be the reason this trade wont happen.

Not sure how pistons fans feel about prince. Was is looking to change players they would be go.

What about taking Max and Mike James out completely?

Tay 4 Butler straight up...it works in the trade checker.

Butler > Prince
James > Maxiell

No. That's a shake up. Washington needs to detonate this team.

I'd much rater just trade Butler, for expirings and prospects/picks and just rebuild this team, no more shuffling, or rebuilding on the fly, because clearly, that doesn't work for us.

Not a chance Washington would do this.
