what can 20 mill in exp get?

Post#1 » by johnwall » Mon Jan 4, 2010 5:19 am

the mavs need to make some moves, we need a backup center, a starting sg and maybe some bench depth. josh howard, jj barea, shawne williams, drew gooden are all available and all exp. we will take long money but not for players tht are not of need. no michael redd, emaka okafor, elton brand, or anyone one a bloated deal with injury problems. we are not in the 2010 hunt so if u are, what do u want to move

You forget that Dampier is essentially a 2010 expirer as well.

Yeah but chances are Dallas doesn't trade him till the offseason unless a great offer comes along...

The Mavs need to take advantage of the Wizards situation.

Howard (team option) for Butler.
Howard/Gooden ($1.9 mil guaranteed) for Butler/Haywood
Barea/Gooden for Crittenton/Haywood
Terry/Carroll for Arenas (and I cringe even suggesting that)

Rip Hamilton and Jason Maxiell are very available. As is Chris Wilcox...

The idea is to land a center in return. Still counts as a huge expirer.

That is ridiculous. If we land Hamilton, Terry (not Howard) needs to be leaving.

Seriously, don't go there... Haywood = GOAT

He's their defensive anchor remember? The difference maker and reason they were in the lottery last year cuz he was hurt.

Its not that, its because they get horrible offers for their starting center. Even if they did want to save money i think they'd at least ask back for some talent. I mean seriously Gooden is no where near Haywood's level. Well that's probably stretching it, but there's a big difference between the two.

I hope someone can find that old thread about the arguement for a Gooden/Haywood trade or something like that.

Deal i think might work is

Dallas Gets:Caron Butler, Desean Stevenson
Chicago Gets:Jason Terry, Shawne Williams
Washington Gets:John Salmons, Kirk Hinrich

then
attempt to get a center for Howard...

im just curious, what do u think he is worth? u guys get on here and act like he is some dominant center in his prime when he is an average center who is 30 yrs old. he isnt going to pull an all star player please get over it. i do think he has more trade value then a gooden type deal, but with the wiz payroll and awful record, i dont see them getting anything of value back, and did i mention..... he is really not tht good to begin with. he is the best defender on a terrible defensive team..... great

How about GFYS?

The Mavs just got PASTED by the Lakers on the tail of almost losing to the Kings (who had just taken that same Laker team IN THEIR OWN GYM to the final second and needing a LOT of ref help to get the win. Have fun in cap hell unless you want to give up Dampier's expiring. The only thing you will be offered is junk!
