Raptors outgoing: Jose Calderon
Raptors incoming: DJ Augustin, DeSagana Diop

Pacers outgoing: TJ Ford
Pacers incoming: Jose Calderon

Bobcats outgoing: DJ Augustin, DeSagana Diop
Bobcats incoming: TJ Ford

Case for Toronto: They turn an overpaid backup PG into an overpaid backup center and an intriguing PG prospect...

Jack/Augustin
DeRozan/Belinelli
Turkoglu/Wright
Bosh/Johnson/Evans
Bargnani/Diop/Nesterovic

Case for Indiana: They get a pass-first PG in Calderon who should fit in well with their halfcourt style offense...

Calderon/Watson
Jones/Rush
Granger/Dunleavy
Murphy/Hansbrough
Hibbert/Foster

Case for Charlotte: They get out from under Diop's longterm contract in favour of an additional 2011 expiring contract. Chandler, Mohammed and Ford all come off the books after next season clearing nearly 30 million in salary...

Felton/Ford
Jackson/Henderson
Wallace/Jackson
Diaw/Wallace
Chandler/Mohammed

Calderon is actually useful and overpaid for the usefulness that he provides.
Diop on the other hand has yet to play 100 minutes this season, and is simply overpaid.

While I will admit that Augustin is intriguing, but no where near intriguing enough to pay Diop to sit on the end of the bench through the 2012/13 season.

I think that if BC is going to move Jose, he is going to want a player who can play 25 minutes + a game like Jose has done and contribute to the team, DJ has had a hard time being a factor since early November and taking on a useless Diop on the hope that DJ can put up similar numbers to those that Jose is putting up just seems like circular logic.

Pacers pass.

We're not going to compound the issue of having an overpaid PG who's not producing by getting an even more overpaid PG who's not producing, with a longer contract.

We're looking to shorten contracts. Not extend them. If it doesn't expire by the summer of 2011, then Indy better be getting a TON of value in return as well.
