Calderon is actually useful and overpaid for the usefulness that he provides.
Diop on the other hand has yet to play 100 minutes this season, and is simply overpaid.
While I will admit that Augustin is intriguing, but no where near intriguing enough to pay Diop to sit on the end of the bench through the 2012/13 season.
I think that if BC is going to move Jose, he is going to want a player who can play 25 minutes + a game like Jose has done and contribute to the team, DJ has had a hard time being a factor since early November and taking on a useless Diop on the hope that DJ can put up similar numbers to those that Jose is putting up just seems like circular logic.

We're not going to compound the issue of having an overpaid PG who's not producing by getting an even more overpaid PG who's not producing, with a longer contract.
We're looking to shorten contracts. Not extend them. If it doesn't expire by the summer of 2011, then Indy better be getting a TON of value in return as well.
