NY/HOU/NJ/Pho

Post#1 » by sunshinekids99 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 12:57 am

Here is another attempt of mine to get a good 4 team trade. A lot of moving pieces in this trade so let me know if this deal makes some sense.

Phoenix Trades:
Amare Stoudemire
Louis Amundson
Jarron Collins

Phoenix Gets:
Yi Jianlian
Courtney Lee
Chase Budinger
Larry Hughes

Why for the Suns? The Suns hit all of the checklist that they are looking for in a deal for Amare. They get a young power forward to replace Amare with Yi. Yi will only benefit from playing with Steve Nash. Courtney Lee would be a very nice 6th man for the Suns and is another young talented player. Chase Budinger has shown some promise with the Rockets and would be a nice addition to the Suns. The Suns also bring in a big expiring contract with Larry Hughes.

Lopez/Frye
Jianlian/Clark
Hill/Dudley/Budinger
Richardson/Lee/Hughes
Nash/Dragic

Inactive- Barbosa/Griffin

New Jersey Trades:
Devin Harris
Yi Jianlian
Courtney Lee
Tony Battie

New Jersey Gets:
Amare Stoudemire
Jordan Hill
Kyle Lowry
Louis Amundson

Why for the Nets? The Nets get the big piece of this trade with Amare. He’s a corner stone for the franchise. They also bring in Jordan Hill who is a younger player that can develop into a very nice player coming off the bench. The team would have a solid nucleus with Stoudemire/Lopez/Douglas-Roberts/Hill/Williams plus they are sure hoping for Wall. Lowry and Amundson are both in the last year of their contracts.

Nets Roster
Lopez/Boone
Stoudemire/Humprhies/Hill
Douglas-Roberts/Simmons
Williams/Hassell
Dooling/Lowry/Quinn

Inactive- Amundson/Hayes

New York Trades:
Larry Hughes
Jordan Hill
Jared Jefferies

New York Gets:
Tracy McGrady

Why for the Knicks? The Knicks continue to shed some payroll and the price of doing that is to trade Jordan Hill. With McGrady the Knicks get a huge expiring contract and he does bring a name to MSG. He might still have some gas in the tank and can maybe be a draw for the Knicks fans.

Knicks Roster
Lee/Milicic/Curry
Chandler/Harrington
Gallinari/Bender/Landry
McGrady/Robinson
Duhon/Douglas

Houston Trades:
Tracy McGrady
Kyle Lowry
Chase Budinger

Houston Gets:
Devin Harris
Tony Battie
Jared Jefferies
Jarron Collins

Why for the Rockets? The Rockets give up the big contract and Budinger and get a very good point guard with Devin Harris. The Rockets also get two expiring contracts with Tony Battie and Jarron Collins. Both also provide the Rockets some size which they do lack. The price of getting the upgrade in talent is having to take on the extra year of the Jared Jefferies contract.

Rockets Roster
Hayes/Battie/Anderson
Scola/Landry/Dorsey
Battier/Jefferies
Ariza/Taylor
Harris/Brooks

Inactive- Ming/Cook/Collins

Replace Amundson with Griffin and Suns might consider it.

Jared Jeffries contract really doesn't put the Knicks into position for 2 max players. So this is basically using a lottery pick to move Jeffries one year early to do what? Look to sign a middle of the pack guy to replace Jeffries AND Hill for next season (the Knicks would only have 4 guys under contract for next season after this deal)? Not so sure this makes much sense.

This trade makes me want to puke; Houston says **** no.

We have to send out talent along with TMac to get back JJ and Harris? You want us to bench Brooks or play a 5'10" SG?

Suns lose too many big men. Our rotation will be:

Nash/Dragic/Hughes
Richardson/Barbosa/Lee/Dragic/Hughes
Hill/Dudley/Budinger/Clark
Yi/Frye/Clark
Lopez/Frye

It's a good deal value wise, but not need wise. No thanks
