Speculation: Heat made a Beas for Dooling offer?

Post#1 » by salqaddoumi » Wed Jun 2, 2010 8:22 pm

I'm calling complete BS on this. Quoted from the Magic board:

magicfan4life05 wrote:Not sure how reliable he is, but on Ryen Russillo's nba podcast today, he said Miami offered Beasley to the Nets for Dooling's expiring contract...and Rod Thorn said "No"

Does anyone know anything about this Russilo guy? This sounds absurd, there's no way we'd try to swing a deal like that.

LOL! Maybe Beasley/James Jones for Devin Harris but not for Dooling. Miami will try to move Beasley ALONG with James Jones or Cook for Expiring but not for cap space. A season ago, Miami said No to Beasley for Ama're and no your telling me were offering Beasley for Cap space? Sorry not buying it. Riley knew the plan for 3 years ago, if he knew he was going to trade Beasley for cap space he would of moved him at the trade deadline for Amare.

Just listened to the audio, he said that some team told them they are absolutely convinced that this was an offer that was made and that Beasley is gone regardless of what happens this summer.

Chris Sheridan also said they'd trade Beas for any opportuntiy cap space at all but can't do it.

I'm just not buying that Riley would really make a Beasley for expiring contract of Dooling offer. Is having $5 mil in extra cap room from ridding ourselves of Beas really worth it to give him up for nothing? We can get more assets than the expiring of Keyon freaking Dooling in a trade.

I don't buy it. It's not even a source from NJ or the Heat. Just some team either trying to devalue Beasley so they can get him cheap or keep the Heat from using him to get a max player.

Pat Riley is not trading Beasley unless he KNOWS he's signing a max. Fact is he doesn't know anything for certain. Imagine we trade Beasley for friggin Dooling then we end up with no Max guys? LOL Riles isn't that stupid.

BULL ****!!!, I dont buy this one bit. Why would we trade Beasley alone for KEYON FRIGGIN DOOLING.

if it were for cap space purposes then we'd trade beasley,JJ,cook and the 1st. And I only see this happening if Riley knows another Max/near max player is a LOCK to sign with Miami.

You honestly think its true? If this trade DID happen we still wouldn't have enough for a max contract, we'd need to dump Jones,cook/#18. Thats why its so obvious that its false.

No way Riley would make that offer, and no way NJ would turn it down.

So how does this story make sense for either team?

That's a joke. Beasley is still one of the best scorers in this league at 20 years old with no concept of how to use his talent. He has value.

You're going to far but I agree with the basis of this being a joke.

Wow nice. Now I feel a lot better about this "rumor". Thanks watchout.

Sorry, I should say one of the most talented (stretch 4, smooth jumper, athletic, soft hands, etc). Just happens to not know how to utilise those skills at this point. He will always have a spot in this league.

Are we really going to continue to believe that he's an insider? Everything he's guaranteed would happen never did actually happen.

I'd like to see him get something right before we believe him.

Like what? I've seen numerous posters who have been here far longer than me or you back him up. What did he predict that didn't come true?

If he's been here since 2002, and other posters who have posted here far longer than me still believe him to be an insider, I have no reason to doubt him. If he didn't have connections, surely he would have been called out by now, its been 8 years.

If I remember correctly, he guaranteed we'd have Odom and Boozer last summer and basically repeated exactly what the Woj article said at the time. Said we'd get Amare at the trade deadline.

Their was nothing substantial that he said outside of what other sources had already reported. Sorry if I'm skeptical but I find it hard to trust a random user on Real GM as an insider till I see proof. What are those numerous things he's been right about?

Disclaimer: This doesn't really have to do with this topic since i've said multiple times I think the Beas for Dooling this is false. I'm just talking about watchout in general.
