5 stages of grief by fans around the league..

Post#1 » by Chosen01 » Sat Jul 10, 2010 11:59 pm

1. Denial

LeBron and Wade can't play together. How can you share the ball?

Who are they going to fill out their roster with? They aren't going to win anything until they do!

Lebron/Wade/Bosh's egos will all clash, implosion for the win. Two top 3 players and a top 15 player will go nowhere.

2. Anger

THIS SUCKS, stop stacking the deck. This is not even fair. This should be against the rules. Screw LeBron, D-Wade sucks. LeBron legacy is ruined!! DAVID STERN INVESTIGATE THIS FOR TAMPERING!!

3. Bargaining

We should all root together against the Heat. Let's all team-up and avoid trading with the Heat.

4. Depression

The NBA is ruined. I can't watch anymore, I am depressed. Why do teams bother playing anymore? Now only 2 teams have a shot to the title, and every other team is screwed. This is bad for the NBA.

5. Acceptance

I've always been a die hard HEAT fan. LET'S GO HEAT!! MY NEW FAVORITE TEAM!!!!

Saw this on another board.. hilarious.. but the funny thing is.. that its true

Haha. The board is way more active then it has been in the past, but I don't mind the bandwagoners. It is nice have more threads and posts to read.

Maybe the Heat can sellout a home game now during the regular season and maybe even a few playoff games. This is a trendy, front running, bandwagon jumping town we live in. I think thats why they all came here because expectations aren't as high here as they are in NY or Chicago. Those towns have established legacies and sellout most regular season games and playoff games regardless if they have a chance or not. The biggest homer in Miami Dan Lebatard even said our town doesn't deserve this.

I was in a Psychology class the day of Bron's decision, and we learned this EXACTLY. I thought of this too after seeing the backlash.

What do people mean when they say we don't deserve this? And they do?

I had the same idea, but I skipped the denial part and went straight to anger - keep it on this board, please.

It's true that he did say we aren't as good fans as some other towns (with the exception of Dolphin fans he noted), but really we don't owe our teams anything if they aren't producing. I remember one time this girl from Michigan at my old college was working on a class project and asked me how the Marlins could get more people in the stands. I told her they need to win. She became frustrated and began listing possible options. I then told her she doesn't understand South Florida and nothing else would work. At the end of the day, South Florida is a show-me area. If you don't produce, you aren't getting our money.

To say we should spend our hard earned money on 8 dollar beers, 25 dollar parking, and 12 dollar meals, not to mention the cost of the tickets, just so we can prove we're loyal and watch a team that isn't worth the ink it's printed on is absurd. You might as well marry that chick you dated in high school who used to be really hott and you had a ton of fun with, but isn't anymore to show your loyalty too. Don't get a prenup either cuz she deserves all your money.

If a person's last line of logic to keep them believing their city is better than ours is that they are better fans than us, go ahead, let them believe it cuz it's true. Sports teams are a BUSINESS. As LBJ showed, there is no loyalty in business. Show us the ticket is worth the money we pay for it and we'll go to the game. Otherwise, I'm going to buy my 6 dollar 6 pack, make my own meal, sit in a way more comfortable area, and get a way better view watching the game from my house.
