I just looked at the boxscore and the advanced stats of both teams and something is just so obvious:

NYK USG%:
1) Carmelo Anthony 36.1 (actually it's Jeffries with 55.0, but he only played 3:33 mins.)
2) JR Smith 20.3
3) Baron Davis (!) 19.6
4) Amar'e Stoudemire 16.6 (!!)
5: Landry Fields 16.4

There's a way of making your All-Star look bad when he barely even touches the ball. There's no reason for him to have less touches than Baron Davis or even JR Smith when he's the far superior offensive player.

In comparison our USG%, which I loved last night:

1) Dwyane Wade 29.8
2) LeBron James 29.4
3) Chris Bosh 27.1
4) Mario Chalmers 21.8
5) Shane Battier 15.5 (Norris Cole has a USG% of 18.7, but he only played 2:46)

Our stars had almost equal shares, which is a result of our improved team play. I hope we can keep this up.

Mike Miller, by the way, had an ORtg of 190 while having a USG% of just 10.6. He was once again aggressive with his shot while not forcing the action and passing the ball when he needed to (4 assists). This is the Miller we need!

Melo out the 4 actually makes us better...it lets us play the big 3 (Bosh at 5, Lebron at 4, Wade at 1 or 2) with two shooters around them instead of one. The added floor spacing + the reduced resistance in the lane = layup drill & open 3s
