we would have the worst shooting backcourt in the league...

The worst 3 point shooing backcourt. Wade and Rondo can shoot the midrange very well. Especially Wade. Rondo would give Wade a break on the defensive end....

So basically you are ok with reducing Bosh who just got one of the richest contracts in the NBA into a spot up 3pt shooter to facilitate two guards who at this point have yet to show the ability to shoot the 3 at a consistent rate?

Who says Bosh would have to? Erik Spo just needs to expand his playbook

First of all the number one thing is find a star player who compliments Bosh not Wade. We had the same issues with Wade and James, so we surrounded them with 3-2 shooters. If we were able to trade for Rondo, Deng would definitely be part of the deal. That would likely leave Granger or even Ennis in the starting lineup. Two guys who can shoot, that would add a third player in the lineup who can shoot. Lets say we can keep Ennis and Granger (which i doubt). We have Granger Bosh and McRoberts on the floor, all three stretch the defense. We will likely run a PnR offense so we would fit fine with Rondo and Wade in the backcourt.

But Boston really isn't a playoff team now, so in that case it wouldn't really matter much.

Yet, Rondo has very publicly stated in January that he “still doesn’t like” Miami, even if many considered the feud to be over as the Celtics began their multi-year rebuilding effort. He’s also gone on record as saying he’ll “never play for the Heat”; again, a rarity in this modern age of free agency and playing for multiple teams over the course of a typical career.

Plus there is no fit for him here with Wade. Bringing Rondo here would mean we continue to use our bigs (Bosh/McRoberts) as floor spacers and limit their offensive game to an extent. Not interested in him at all. He doesn't even make us the best team in the East, we would still be behind the Cavs and probably tied with the Bulls. I am more interested in seeing a 2 man game between Wade and Bosh. I wanna see those two play well. We won't win the chip this year but it will be a fun season especially if Wade can have a Kobe 2013 type of resurgence.

Look, if we can somehow get Rondo without gutting the rest of the team, or killing 2016 flexibility we do it. Rondo is an awesome 2-way PG, despite the shooting issues. To me the biggest issue is if he would play for us - I wouldn't want to give assets for him if he's out the door straight away.

Wade showed he can fit next to Bron, and he can make it work with Rondo. Yes shooting is not ideal, but you get around that to build around Rondo/Wade/Bosh

Heat rival Rondo buys Paramount Bay unit while Mario Chalmers just placed his condo for sale. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Boston Celtics star pays $1.2 million for two-bedroom Edgewater condo.

What if that's just a real estate investment? It doesn't mean much

I mean was Kris Humphries gonna be a Heat player in 2007 when he bought this condo? http://therealdeal.com/miami/blog/2014/ ... ach-condo/

Then he sold it and made a 700k profit 7 years later

edit :

Miami Heat point guard Mario Chalmers wants $4 million for the downtown Miami condo he purchased from hip hop star Drake for $2.4 million in 2012. The five-bedroom, 5,475-square-foot duplex unit is located on the 49th floor of Marquis Residences.

Mario tryna make a profit as well.

Doesn't mean anything.

It's common for players to establish homesteads in Florida. That's for tax reasons. We don't have a state income tax here in the state, so if a player can establish a residence here by owning a home and allocating his resources to said place, it makes it easier for him to retain more of his money when the paychecks come. Honestly, I wouldn't read into this too much, because players buy and sell homes all the time. It is what it is. No smoke here, folks.

I hope we don't get this guy. Total douche plus worst shooting pg in the league. No Garnett Pierce Allen to pass to=mediocre rondo.

It's not going to happen - we'd have more of a chance to get Rubio (if contract extension continue to sour), than Rondo!

as much as I dont like him Rondo is better than Rubio. Bazz is from Boston.... McBob Bazz for Rondo would work.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Why is this even a thread? You want a lineup of:

Rondo
Wade
Deng
McBob
Bosh
?

Talk about packing the paint. The spacing was spotty last year despite Wade being the only player in the lineup to be unable to hit a 3 (compared to replacing him with Allen/Miller in 2013) but now you have TWO subpar 3pt shooters, two medicore 3pt shooters and a decent 3pt shooter in Bosh who NEEDS to stay around the basket.

It wouldn't work.
