If we manage to get a top 10 pick we're far more likely to draft Antonio Daniels than Tim Duncan. Lottery picks guarantee nothing. I'd rather be mediocre and make a big signing in 2016 than fall apart like the Cavs after LeBron left.

Melo for Deng, UD(Buyout), Shabazz, Mario
NY gets rid of the big contract and can start new. We get another scorer.
Bosh-Melo-Ennis-Wade-Cole

That sounds great to me. And how do you suppose tricking Phoenix into giving us Isaiah Thomas for a pile of hot garbage with not-so-great contracts we have?

Well yeah, that's the problem... we will need someone else to be in the trade to give them a big man, their 3 point guard "strategy" isn't working at all so they should be looking for a trade. They are even smaller than us...
Phoenix actually was trying to sign Deng hard during the off season. Maybe they will take him. Problem still lies with Thomas's contract as it interferes with 2016. We also need to be focusing more on big men with very few little assets we have. Our best bet is still trying to go all out for Monroe, Jennings, and Singler for Deng, Chalmers, Williams, and 2017 1st round pick. The Beauty about this deal is all contracts are off the books in 2016 for both sides and Detroit gets there 1st round pick compensation. By 2017 with our projected 2016 Free Agent over haul lets hope that 2017 pick is nothing but a garbage late round selection.IggieCC wrote:MMyhre wrote:IggieCC wrote:That sounds great to me. Gotcha. We'll basically need 2 super idiotic NBA team owners that can be tricked into taking on our hot garbage
