Watching TJ tonight, he's got a lot of work to do in the off season. He's a rook so it's ok he has time, but man he makes some bad decisions out there.

one thing for certain is kid has heart & balls.....but those rook mistakes won't be tolerated once we are legit contenders.

Happy that Spo allowed Wade and Dragic to each have more time on the floor last night without the other. It means less of the Green-TJ back court. TJ is still growing and developing, but he's best as an off-ball player. When we can have another real ballhandler/playmaker out there, he can thrive in an active catch-and-shoot role on offense. His shot looked great last night.

We got TJ out of our summer league team because he went totally undrafted, looking back at the 2014 draft again today I have no doubt he'll get picked in the first round in a re-draft :

Bold = players I would NOT trade TJ for
Underline = players it's still a bit early to tell who's better

1 Cavaliers Andrew Wiggins SF Kansas
2 Bucks Jabari Parker SF Duke
3 76ers Joel Embiid C Kansas
4 Magic Aaron Gordon PF Arizona
5 Jazz Dante Exum PG Australia
6 Celtics Marcus Smart PG Oklahoma State
7 Lakers Julius Randle PF Kentucky
8 Kings Nik Stauskas SG Michigan
9 Hornets Noah Vonleh PF Indiana
10 Magic Elfrid Payton PG UL Lafayette
11 Bulls Doug McDermott SF Creighton
12 76ers Dario Saric SF Croatia
13 Timberwolves Zach LaVine PG UCLA
14 Suns T.J. Warren SF N.C. State
15 Hawks Adreian Payne PF Michigan State
16 Nuggets Jusuf Nurkic C Bosnia-Herzegovina
17 Celtics James Young SG Kentucky
18 Suns Tyler Ennis PG Syracuse
19 Nuggets Gary Harris SG Michigan State
20 Raptors Bruno Caboclo SF Brazil
21 Thunder Mitch McGary PF Michigan
22 Grizzlies Jordan Adams SG UCLA
23 Jazz Rodney Hood SF Duke
24 Heat Shabazz Napier PG Connecticut
25 Rockets Clint Capela PF Switzerland
26 Hornets P.J. Hairston SG UNC/NBA D-League
27 Suns Bogdan Bogdanovic SG Serbia
28 Clippers C.J. Wilcox SG Washington
29 Thunder Josh Huestis SF Stanford
30 Spurs Kyle Anderson SF UCLA

If you agree to this list, TJ should have been picked in the 12-17 range, late lotto to middle first round. (MAJOR steal)

Tried to be objective here but my love for the kid might have influenced a bit.

Best PG on the roster. Play him 20+ minutes and see.

Very glad about that, he needs to get on the court this time.

We had a Rio, Cole, Napier rotation.

Guess whos the last man standing.

we say this every few years, but it never ends with Rio... they still depend on him. But there's players better on him. Rio sometimes has it going, sometimes he doesn't... but Rio for the most part could have lost this game by himself thinking he's so good and was actually ignoring beasley who was making shots keeping the team afloat. Then he'd ignore Dragic and run the point, he is just the odd man out, along with Napier.

Chalmers just needs to be relegated to strict backup PG with TJ taking over the bulk of minutes behind Wade. This teams was getting in big trouble playing Chalmers at the two. I have been pleading for TJ since after the Knick game. Glad someone finally opened their eyes and played him. TJ has two guard of the future of the franchise written all over him.

Tyler Johnson looked very good for a first year player last season but so far 15-16 has been something else entirely. He's producing on both end of the court and is currently outplaying the most homeristic expectations. With the obvious sss caveat, Tyler is in his 'draft class' currently; 1st in BPM, 2nd in WS/48, 4th in PER and 1st in Netrtg. The organization has done a fantastic job finding and developing these kids who fell through the cracks.

Upon Terry's arrival at Fresno State, Johnson was a sophomore who barely played as a freshman. One of the first drills was to have two players chase after a loose ball — the new coach wanted to see who was who and, yeah, weed out the weaklings.

Johnson and another player dove after a ball. The other player's head collided with Johnson's mouth. Two of Johnson's front teeth fell out on the court. He picked them up, handed them to a trainer and returned to the drill.

"I said right then, 'This dude's got a chance,'" Terry says. "And by the end of his time here, he was the embodiment of our program. His legacy here was his work ethic, to the point [that] in the first meeting in the year after he left, I asked, 'Who's going to work like Tyler Johnson?' "

Tj is going to be toothless by the time he retires.

In other Tj related news... I have found TJ's future backup. It's his little brother. He's like 16. Check out some dunks:
https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/632088394428903424/pu/vid/480x480/nLZ752HJ3yzGoNVH.mp4

Full article:
http://coryinthesourcehoops.com/post/129370234713/logan-johnson-a-dream-to-play-in-the-nba

The two things I liked the most were Logan’s willingness to play defense. He had no issue getting down in a stance and putting pressure on the guards on the perimeter. Johnson slides his feet and stays in front of the defenders. I guess this is why he says, “Defense [is my biggest strength as a player]! I love to get down and lock someone up on defense”.

Schools that are currently interested in him include: Utah State, Fresno State, Florida gulf coast, San Diego State, Pacific

I gave an and1 to this thread by mistake, I hit all game threads in the last two weeks (about 5-7 threads), surprised you didn't notice that,
