Really feel bad for Chris Bosh :(

Magic fan here who hated the Heat (until they got Dragic, now I'm rooting for you guys. Only hated because bandwagon fans due to LeBron) and Bosh to this day is one of my favorite players, ever. I've always loved Bosh and he's one of the great guys in this league. I'm a Georgia Tech fan so I've been following him heavily since his college days.

I think this is similar to what the Nets PF Mirza Teletovic is sidelined for the season for as well.... Very scary stuff and I hope Bosh (and Mirza) both make full recoveries and and live long, healthy lives.

Basketball really is thrown out the window with things like this, but I've gotta say with Bosh and Dragic- I had the Heat as the Eastern Conference favorites after the trade on Thursday.

Get well soon CB!

Blood clot in the lungs is serious issue, not worth risking your life over.

Miami could probably sign Thomas Robinson right now to replace him and then maybe develop him or sign Greg Monroe in the off season.

Retires? This is the sort of thing that he can come back fine from next season, he caught it early enough that there shouldn't be any long term issues.

Take care and come back stronger than ever Bosh.

It really sucks.. esp. Bosh has to be one of the nicest players and people out there.

Get Well Soon CB... Have had several interactions with Bosh and the dude has always been a class act.... Bosh gets alot of grief from fans despite being one of the truly good guys in the league. Bosh is a smart guy, will do everything the doctors say and will be back stronger than ever(If that means on Basketball court or just with family but still stronger)....

Bosh has nothing to prove to the fans and HEAT. The dude has been class! Now its our turn to return the favor, support him along this journey, no matter what happens on the court, he deserves that. Get well CB!!!

Thank you! Get Well!

Bosh really is one of the best people ever. I know many of us, including myself, have criticized him as a player but as a person? Truly amazing.

Guys, this will turn out to be a blessing in disguise for Chris Bosh and this team. He will come back well rested and fully healthy, and his absence likely means we'll miss the playoffs. Missing the playoffs means we get our lottery pick back.

I trust Riley to land a solid talent anywhere from 1-14. Bosh will return to a much more talented team, meaning less overall strain on his back. Lastly, Bosh is still getting paid while he's on the mend. Everything will be just fine.

The pick is only top 10 protected...

I doubt even without Bosh we finish in the bottom 10 in the league.

Yes regarding basketball, Bosh now gets a rest. He will be even better next season. The toll of the last 4 years looked to be getting to him at times, and the durable Bosh (something we have taken for granted) even had a strain.

That pain Bosh had on his side may have been the cause of all this, he looked strange out there. I thought it was maybe a bruise, Rio thought it was a cracked rib. Scary that something so minor was something so big.

Bosh won an ASG challenge, 3 peated, with this pain! crazy

If we make playoffs, does that pick roll to next year or become a second rounder?

Here is hopping this is just due to dehydration although it is not a common cause it is the best on for some one his age to have. Now riley has to decide what to do with the PF position. UD can't start there for the rest of the season. I think he may have no choice if he wants to salvage the year but to bring back Beasley. He knows the offense already and besides the defense can do everything bosh does. Then you can bring in Blatche as his back up!!

If we make the playoffs, then Philly (or whoever holds the rights at this point) would get the pick.

Actually, if we get anywhere from the 11-30th pick, then Philly would get the pick.

If we finish with a top 10 pick, we keep it, but then it rolls over.

That really sucks for you guys. Hope he's ok.

As far as the basketball goes, it's nice for you that you got Dragic, and Bosh was THE PERFECT guy to play pick n pop with Dragic. Do you have any other floor spacers at all (to play 4) with Bosh and McBob out? Is it pretty much just Haslem and Whiteside?
