A lot of the obsession about set positions (pg,sg,sf,etc) is to simplify playing patterns for the media and the fans, and not really the way players and coaches see the roles. In Dragic's case, he was upset at Phoenix because he wanted to be the primary ball handler and had to compete with two others with almost the same role. As a player or a coach, the problem you have are unequal match-ups with other players and these change during the game. Match-up inequities are related to speed, height, strength, experience, and skill (usually ball handling skill is most important in a match-up). If you just look at the height, then you're not seeing the full picture.

With that Phoenix lineup you suggested, Marion was a little bit short at PF, but he was so good he had to be on the floor. In any case, Chalmers is now on the second unit and I think that's fine. He's a versatile player and that's a good role for him.

I'm too late for this wonderful topic but enjoyed some random name calling lol

i hate the lineup. i don't really care how good or workable offensively, dragic chalmers wade are not a very good defensive trio to display in any point of the game.

almost laughable esp. most teams have athletic 6'8 6'9 SFs nowadays.

Does the fanbase here actually want Beasley on the team?

Some are probably trolling, but yeah - there are quite a few guys that want him back (for the 3rd time).

Actually I think that's where a lot of the Spo hate comes from - the urge to blame someone else for their hero's failings. The same folks wanting Beasley are the ones railing against Spo in most cases.
