Official 2015 NBA Draft Talk - Miami Heat Edition

Post#1 » by walk with me » Mon Apr 6, 2015 1:57 am

*Changed the title and made it a sticky thread. All lottery and draft talk goes here.
--heat4life

our pick is protected if it lands between 1-14 correct?

As it stands (if we finish the season in this current position) I believe we would keep our draft pick and be in the lottery, correct? If this is accurate I'm 100% on the tanking bandwagon and have my eyes set on stanley johnson.

nope

we need to lose our next game to be in the discussion

the pick is top 10 protected

we need to be in 11th in the East to get the 10th pick in the draft I believe

For the love of god, just lose out. This pick has got to be saved.

at this point (in my opinion) I think it's 100% worth it to sit everyone and if we don't I hope we lose the rest of our games

1. we tried our best but had unfortunate health luck
2. we still delivered 2 all stars and 1 should have been starting (if not both)
3. we got whiteside & dragic pretty much out of nothing

the addition of a top 10 draft pick in a slightly above mediocre draft is very tantalizing in my view. Imagine if we could some how land around 6-7 and grab stanley johnson. Big physical defender to back up loul. This would be a HUGE addition for our team. I really hope we go for it, everyone else in the NBA does.

I can't fathom Pat picking an 18 year old again in the draft. He hasn't since Beas and that put a bad taste in his mouth IMO. The only 4 year guys are Frank Kaminsky and Jerian grant. I can totally see Pat picking Kaminsky. He'd help our bench spacing too.

If we magically got a higher pick (Silver being nice), then Cauley-Stein.

we definitely need a wing defender though, our perimeter defense has been AWFUL!! its why we suck big time defensively.

problem with these 4year guys is they dont have that much more room to grow. i see riley trading the pick(if we got it)

That could totally be misread.

I still think someone should go and smack the **** out of Riles for trading that pick in the first place. Giving out picks like candy. Sorry we took your Lebron, here's a pick....

I'd like to see us have some spacing as well. Our outside shooting this year was laughable. Our best 3 point shooter was Bosh! I'd like to hear more about Hezonja's ability to defend. What I've gathered so far is that he is good at it when he tries. He still might be out of our reach even if we do keep our pick.

exactly what we need.

Name a player like frank kaminsky BESIDES DIRK in the nba that is successful. I would be furious if we draft kaminsky. Dude won't beable to defend elite opponents at the NBA level. Unless he develops a kyle korver type 3 he will be at the end of the bench for most of his career. I haven't seen much of grant but I'm not buying the kaminsky hype at the nba level.
