IMO, Riley knows that his chances of getting LMA is slim, cause even if LMA agree, Riles need to let the Blazers agree to a S&T too which will cost the Heat a lot. Probably the reasons he set a meeting coz he wants to try, and who knows it may work plus if ever he will be turned down by LMA, Riles still comes out a winner because by doing the meeting, he is letting players know arround the league that he is about WINNING, and he will do anything in his power to make the heat a championship team by acquiring big name players. Who knows, a marketing strategy like that may attract a player like Durant next off-season.

I went to the Blazer's board and check their comments on a S&T with the Heat. They want Winslow in a trade.

It doesn't matter what they want. They aren't in any position to decide they can say yes or no and he can go somewhere else for nothing.

If I was the blazers it would be probably be preferable to let him walk then take back bosh. Personally, I don't know the heat have the assets to convince them to take that kind of money back.

It will be interesting if LMA signs w/ Spurs or Mavs and indeed he does sign a 1yr deal. Riles plan of scooping him up nxt offseason will be set.

They can say no to us but than Aldridge can go somewhere else and they get nothing. At least with us they get some contracts expiring next season who can play

Of course they are, they can simply NO. Why would they help the Heat by giving then LMA and taking players they dont like. They can say NO and use their cap space to sign players of their liking while letting LMA leave without giving him what he likes. There are a lot of expiring contract to other team that they can have throught their cap space.

For LMA to get a max contract we'd need to still send out around $24m - Deng ($10.1m), McBob ($5.5m), Bird ($5m), Chalmers ($4.3m) would be enough.

Why would the Blazer do that!? with your deal, they lost LMA and they receive a burden by taking these players salary and prevent them from using their cap space to use on much better players.

The Blazer will require a 1st round pick but the Heat doesnt have to offer being forwarded to Phoenix. It will cost the Heat a package that include Winslow IMO or Bosh. A Bosh package is like a lateral move unless package with a player like McBob to ease the Heat a little with the tax this coming season and gain additional cap space next year.
