We keep him until the trade deadline then. Or maybe just buy him out in March. There are options. Right now we can use him.

Tax computed at the end of the season - not the beginning.

No way he takes a buyout. The longer we wait then it becomes russian roulette at the trade deadline if nobody takes him off our hands or he gets hurt. He needs to be dealt ASAP.

What if we make the playoffs and we need him though to play in the ECF and maybe the Championship? Isn't that worth tax?

Bird is 37 years old. He is not worth his price tag when u factor in the repeater. Plain and simple.

We can trade Ennis, Johnson (or Chalmers), and Walker to teams where they can play steady minutes.
See if we can stash Richardson for next year

Goran Dragic/Johnson (or Chalmers)/Napier
Wade/Green/Zoran Dragic
Deng/Winslow/Dorell Wright
Bosh/McRoberts/Haslem
Whiteside/Stoudemire/Birdman

Bird not worth the tax hit for a third string Center. Maybe if he was making the minimum then yes. It would be best just to groom a cheap young big behind Amare.

He's worth it to me (because it don't cost me a damn thing). Prob not to Mickey tho
