Not feeling bad for Miller at all this time around.. he chased LeBron like a puppy and got dumped lol

This avi is free for taking for any Miller fans still out there. I made it per poster's request but he didn't like it so it's yours :)

He can't be serious about 3-4 years. That jumper is gone and he can't finish at the rim anymore. I'm sorry UD, but I think it's time to pick up a clipboard...

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard told CBS Sports Radio's Jody MacDonald that he doesn't plan to attend USA Basketball's minicamp in Las Vegas in August, as Team USA cut him before the FIBA World Cup last summer. Here's the exchange from The Jody Mac Show:

Are you headed to Vegas next month?

Umm, probably not.

Why not?

I did it the last few summers. Last summer I didn't make it, so I don't know why I would go. If I got cut last summer, I don't think I'm a part of it.

Lillard was cut from last summer's roster just before Team USA went to Spain, and he obviously felt overlooked. USA Basketball chose Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving and Derrick Rose as their point guards at the time.

Given his injuries and heading to Portland, he definitely went to the right team. Also no Aldridge. Team is in a rebuild mode.

I agree he can be overly vocal w/ rejection. I would much rather see him use it as fuel to make himself better and prove to the world he is not one to be overlooked. I rate Lillard & i'm a big fan but this new generation of players are spoiled.

That's pretty fn funny considering all the trash talking towards the Heat for losing Lebron because of trading Miller to save on luxury tax..

So trading Miller could save them 10m in luxury taxes.

What's the difference James?

Actually telling him before doing it. Miller was beloved by the locker room. Take your HEAT goggles off.

Miller himself said he knew he was going to be amnestied. Maybe you got some goggles that need taking off ...

Telling LEBRON. Focus on the context here.

Eh, everybody knew Miller will get amnestied right after that new CBA.

Also, the narrative that James was upset after the amnesty because the big 3 took paycuts to keep Mike is such bullcrap. They took paycuts to keep Haslem. Miller was on MLE, so his contract would be the same whether big 3 took paycuts, got full maxes or vet. min. contracts.

No, he wasn't. MLE was only available if cap space wasn't used. Also, Beasley was traded to create the cap space needed to sign him.

http://www.bulletsforever.com/2010/7/9/1560843/mike-miller-signs-with-miami-heat
It's now official: Miller will play for the Heat next year. He signed a five-year, $30 million contract yesterday, using cap space the Heat cleared from trading Michael Beasley to Minnesota.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-heat/sfl-miami-heat-michael-beasley-s022615-story.html
Beasley played two seasons with the Heat in his initial stint, before being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves on July 12, 2010, in a move that cleared salary-cap space for the signing of swingman Mike Miller.
