We have more wing depth than we've ever had before which can help keep Wade at 29-30 MPG to avoid wear and tear, the single greatest contributor to injuries. I think he'll play 70 + games.

The fact that he has had another season under his belt. His body is slowly breaking down further and further, so I don't trust that it's gonna get better. He only played 31.8 minutes last year, I highly doubt a minute or two less per game is gonna change much. Besides, at his salary, he shouldn't play less than 30 minutes as it is anyways. Participating in 70 games at 24 to 25 MPG would be a similar disappointment in my opinion.

Take San Antonio for example. That team is filled with fossils, yet they were able to stay the healthiest team, most likely because they are so deep.

Their stars also don't have Wade's injury history.

Pffft, Whiteside disappointing? Put your money where your mouth is, trollchella. What will be his "disappointing" stat line?

It's fair. Whiteside has been getting tons of hype lately. He seems to really like Winslow and believe in him, but the Whiteside opinion is fair.

I do think Whiteside will be a good center, but have him more of a 12 ppg 10 rpg 2 bpg guy.

Flip his rebounds and points. That's what I have him at. But at really high percentages.

A double-double and TWO blocks per game from a min contract is not disappointing. Not saying that you're the one calling him disappointing, but I'm trying to gauge what 'disappointing' is.

The way that poster makes it seem is that he's barely going to be in the rotation, which is a bit drastic, I'll admit, but us Heat fans have been over selling him for a bit and some have GOAT expectation of him which need to be simmered down. I'd like to think that's why the poster thinks he will be a disappointment.

Post#29 » by Chalm Down » Wed Sep 2, 2015 12:26 pm

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?
47

2) What seed will the Heat be to start the Eastern playoffs?
4th

3) Who will be our 3 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?
Bosh - 20 PPG
Wade - 17 PPG
Dragic - 16 PPG

4) Who will be our best overall new addition?
I'll cheat a bit and say McRoberts, since he didn't play much last year, and he's going to have a different role off the bench this year anyways. He won't fill up the stat sheet with gaudy numbers, but the entire team will just play better when he's on the floor (kind of like a Battier-esque effect).

5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?
Winslow. Kind of by default, since I don't think Johnson/Richardson/Ennis will get that many minutes this year. I think it will take some time for Winslow's offense to develop (especially his shot), but he can offer good defense and a boost of energy off the bench.

6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?
Maybe Winslow or Whiteside -- not necessarily because they'll have bad seasons, but because parts of the fanbase have HUGE expectations for these guys.

7) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?
Going by recent rumors, Rio and Bird are the main options for a trade. I'd much rather they keep Birdman (at least for sentimental reasons), but ultimately I think it will be an all-or-nothing situation -- either keep both, or trade both and get under the tax.

8) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)
Amar'e will have a better season than most people are anticipating. We may even see some vintage STAT games.

9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?
He under-achieved with the talent he had. Hope it's not true, but that's what usually ends up happening.

10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.
The Heat will be in the top half of the league in rebounding for the first time in years.

11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.
All of the point guards who have been forsaken (Bazz, Cole, possibly Chalmers if he's traded) will absolutely torch the Heat when they return to Miami.

12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.
Kaminsky hits the game-winner in the season opener, sending the Kamunists of this board into a state of pure nirvana.

13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?
Injuries.

14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?
Making it to the second round (or anything beyond) is a success. Losing in the first round is a failure.

15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?
It really depends on match-ups, but I think they'll end up losing in the second round.

All answers should address the regular season:

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?
52

3
3) Who will be our 3 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?
Bosh - 20
Wade - 19

Green, will certainly be a fan favorite. Tons of highlights waiting to happen.

5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?
Winslow

6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?
Gonna go with Wade, I think he'll miss more games than we expect.

7) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?
Don't really care, BRING BEAS BACK

8) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)
Whiteside will start in the All-star Game
National media suddenly "having our back"
Stat getting in good shape and actually attempting to play defense.

9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?
FIRE SPOTARD

10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.
Whiteside top 5 in the league in blocks, rebounds and shooting percentage and PER.
Wade will have 19,750 career points before end of season. Currently at 18,812

11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.

Birdman & Jason Jackson's legendary interviews
Rio walking in to practice on the day he's traded to the Timberwolves for a pack of stance socks and 3 lyfe brand shirts.

12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.

HeatWillPlateau will make 60 percent of game threads with PiggieCC and Maroko derailing them with pictures and gifs that I can't help but be entertained by.
Someone gets married ( bad move whoever you are, but its cheaper to keep her I guess)

13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?

Interpersonal relationships

14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?
No playoffs and first round exit are failures

ECF, Idk how it ends, hopefully not by buzzer beater.
Luke Babbit Josh Richardson James Johnson IggieCC is my role model

1. 48
2. 4th seed
3.
Bosh: 20ppg
Wade: 18,5ppg
Dragic: 16,5ppg
4. Winslow
5. Winslow
6. Whiteside if someone expects him to put up 15/13/3 numbers for the season.
7. Trading Chalmers or Birdman
8. Amare playing around 70 games
9. Should have played less small ball.
10. Wade and Dragic with a +49% FG percentage
11. McRob nearly getting a triple double(short of 1 rebound, point or assist)
12. No clue
13. Most likely health and spacing if one of the better shooters goes down.
14. Failure losing in the first round. Success reaching the ECF and forcing game 6 against Lebron
15. Losing in the ECF against the Cavs if everyone is healthy. Losing before reaching the ECF If one of the starters besides Deng goes down

1) 53 wins
2) 2nd seed
3) Bosh-19.7ppg Wade-17.8ppg Dragic-17.3
4) J.Rich will be the best new addition. Some new additions may score more, but his perimeter D & attitude will tickle Spo's sweet spot that used to be reserved for UD. And result in surprising rotation minutes.
5) Best rook.....See ^
6) Both Bird and McBob will beat out Amare for the backup positions. Despite his min salary he's gonna be considered a disappointment
7) A 3 way trade that ultimately results in us shipping out McBob, Winslow, Deng, and Chalmers for Carmelo Anthony
8) Biggest surprise..Melo trade & Spo makes a in-season assistant coach change
9) What will we be saying about Spo? How much credit should Spo be given for reaching his 5th Finals with another loaded roster
10) Interesting stat nugget......Best record in the league when we make more 3's than our opponent.
11) Weirdest moment of the season..Hassan gets another triple-double, then declares that he's the best player in the league, Espn and "Shaqtin a fool"' bash him for a week.
12) A longtime poster development.....the Poster who can't get over his Kaminski crush, will turn his affection to Duke Guard Grayson Allen
13) Biggest factor for our success.... Spo finding the correct rotations. Have to exclude health as an option, cause it's literally the #1 factor for every team.
14) A successful year for this roster.... at least the ECF
15) Cleveland blames injured players for our 4-1 series victory...Hassan lets Draymond Green get into his head about smallBall and we go down 4-2 to the Warriors.

Another very reactionary post to one preseason game. Last year we won 37 games and that was with a lot of injury problems and Dragic and Whiteside being midseason acquisitions. And we still could've at least gotten to 40. This year we have:

A) A full season of Dragic and Whiteside
B) (Hopefully) a full season of Bosh
C) A much deeper bench with the additions of Amar'e, G2 and Winslow.

Then you also think Bosh is gonna average 24 and Dragic 20 a night with Wade still at 17. How poorly does the rest of the team perform? Or do all three of them miss significant time? Seriously, your prediction is so contradictory and overly negative that one can only come to the conclusion that you're out to bash the team (specifically Wade).
