I heard a lot of people say this. Put some names out there.

Qualifications: Must be an expiring contract. We aren't going to take on a bunch of guaranteed money. Our salary cap space is running out as it is.

Some possible guys:

1. Arron Afflalo (Risky because he has a player option next year)

2. Eric Gordon: He is interesting, he's an expiring making $15mill. Very injury prone(He's missed around 20 games a season the past couple of years) Lights out 3pt shooter last year, he shot 44.8% from 3.

3. Chandler Parsons: Though I have no idea why the Mavs would do it.

4. Ryan Anderson

I can't really think of many others. Ideally I'd love to get a Danny Green or a Trevor Ariza but we all know that, that isn't going to happen.
This trade is a bit interesting. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=qfwv5ws

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-heat/sfl-ira-nba-column-s102514-column.html

An annual rite of the preseason is players filling out the NBA questionnaire. There were more than a few interesting answers on the Heat forms. Not only did Chris Andersen list his favorite television shows as, "How the Universe Works, Ancient Aliens and Ballers," but when asked about his hidden off-court talent, he listed "bow hunting." Asked what he would be if he wasn't an NBA player, Chris Bosh answered, "graphic designer." For his part, Dwyane Wade listed his favorite fashion accessory as his fedora. Showing that television can transcend cultural lines, when asked for his favorite television shows, Goran Dragic included Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Friends. On his questionnaire, Josh McRoberts listed "juggling" as his hidden talent. Tyler Johnson one-upped him by listing his hidden talent as "fake sneezing." More poignant was Gerald Green saying the moment that inspired him to start playing basketball was, "when my grandmother wrote me a letter saying that I need to change my life."

Speaking of three point shooters:

We should retire his jersey for not going to Cleveland... and for that shot.

If Miami trades Deng, they also have to get back a guy who can defend against bigger sfs out there. Afllalo or Gordon are pure sgs, Anderson is a pf. Then you'd have Green/Winslow/Richardson covering the likes of LBJ/Anthony/Durant... Ariza/Parsons would be great, but are not realistic options. Parsons's contract is also rather huge. He's getting 30 mil over the next two years.
Considering the current roster is almost the Miami Suns, maybe PJ Tucker could be the answer? He's a defensive pest and can somewhat hit the corner three. He 6'6, but weighs 245. He's a beast. The Suns actually used him to defend ZBo/Al Jefferson when they were torching the Morris twins. Overall though he's a lot worse offensively compared to Deng...

The thing about trading Deng is we don't want to take back salary, which would eat into the Wade/Hassan/GG/Tyler free agency pie at the end of this season. We're better off keeping him and try to make it work while he expires.

You guys have Gerald Green for that

Green was one of my favourite Suns in a long time. Bitterly disappointed we let him gofor nothing. Not only is he a highlight machine, but he was a class-act and a true professional on and off the court.

The guy wouldve taken a bullet for our team, even when Coach Hornacek decided to put him in the doghouse.

Green was one of the main reasons the 2013-2014 Suns had a huge resurgence. He provided energy, scoring and amazing shooting.
For a period we started Goran and green in the backcourt for some of the most exciting Suns basketball I'd seen in the long time. Green and Goran have fantastic chemistry, and I have no doubt that Green will succeed if placed in a spot-up-shooting role in the starting lineup.

There are some nights that Green just wont miss, but some nights he wont hit anything. You have to take the bad with the good with Gerald, but if he gets in a good rhythm, watch out.

Still extremely sad to see Green leave, but happy for him to be in a great situation. With my fav player of all time (Goran) and Green on your roster, I will be rooting hard for you guys in the East. All the best with the season.

And Enjoy these.......

Preseason watch: Battle for the backup PG-spot
- Update: 3.0, End of preseason

Johnson; I thought I had high hopes for Tyler going in to this preseason but I have to say that he exceeded them with marginal. Definitively has an NBA stroke which we all know we're in dire need of. Works best as an off-guard but can get us in to the offense sufficiently enough. Big heart, gives us a lot of energy on both ends and going back to last year Johnson has played too well to be overlooked starting the season.

Chalmers; Looked a bit more active after getting back from a small injury break. Still turns the ball over too much to make his slight passing proficiency over Tyler much of a competitive advantage and the defense is still in a status que to what he's show lately. Not a better shooter then Johnson but does work okay with Wade and Bosh for stretches. The uptick in overall activity along with franchise nostalgia is however what probably gives him the backup gig to start the season.

Conclusion: With Johnson balling like a mad man making it increasingly hard to cut his minutes it's possible that he'll play off-guard and that Chalmers in the longer run is in more of a minute crunch with Winslow as the middle-man along Green and Johnson off the bench. That might be semantics but Chalmers is hanging loose no doubt.

Update: 2.0, Spurs game

Johnson; got a serious preseason run against the Spurs and looked good. Had fast footwork on the defensive end, stepped around screens with relative ease, provided good rebounding help from the guard spot and was decisive pushing the ball up the floor. On the offensive end he shot the ball with confidence from behind the arc and used his opportunistic bbiq for some excellent first half cuts to the basket.

On the downside he took a couple of questionable mid-range jumpers, mainly due to the second unit having some trouble getting into their half-court offense.

Overall a good showing. Provides the team with well needed athleticism and intensity off the bench. Have to say I'm a bit surprised about the amount of positive impact even tho it was hard not be optimistic about his upward trajectory after last season. Taking the fact that it's the huffing and puffing of the NBA-preseason into consideration, it still looks like we might have a player ready for rotation minutes here.

Mario; did not play but looked better with a towel over his shoulders sitting on the bench than he's done crumbling under the pressure of 2nd tier guards so far on the court. **Edit: Seems to be out for a couple of games with wobbly knees due to Tyler's knock last night**

ex. spotrust = xtimes Spoelstra labels Tyler Johnson "a basketball player"/the times he don't. If he's "a basketball player" it indicates spotrust, everything else like 'did this or has to do that' is prepare for the dog house.
