Look man, I'm not trying to be confrontational or stir the pot or anything. We're all HEAT fans.
Yes, I was absolutely one of Hassan's main detractors, I rooted for him when he first showed up,calling for constant post ups and such but then the holes in his game started showing up, shat on him for not changing his play, attitude, etc because it was detrimental to the team but like Legend of Chim said, his play turned around, his defense is better, he started setting better screens, more willing passer, he's improved his FT% his floor communication got better, etc. He humbled himself a bit.
I'm definitely going to criticize a 26 year old who's been in the league and back who know's what's at stake harsher than a 19 year old rookie. Hassan was making mistakes that he shouldn't have been making but more significantly it seemed as if he wasn't learning from his mistakes and to be honest, I was being a bit too harsh, i have no problem admitting that. He's turned it around and I'll criticize him when he's dumb but I'm right there with the "GOATSIDE" chants when he's being awesome, which he has been pretty consistently for the past couple months and I'll be happy when we max him as he seems committed to improving his game.
What I found strange with your criticisms of Justise is that the kid is 19 years old. He won't even be able to legally drink alcohol until this time next year. He can not create offense for himself which practically every one on this board has knowledge. You say he's not that good on defense when he's top 10 in most defensive metrics, that isn't a fluke because he's the only Heat player up there. Of course he's going to make mistakes on that end too, he's 19 years old and played just a year in college man.You should look at Jrich's rookie college numbers.Speaking of Jrich, I'm loving what he's showing us lately, he's very skilled at that's the difference 3 years can make, he isn't better defensively than Winslow though, he makes flashier plays but he gambles too much. Winslow's man and team defense are better but I'm glad we have two rooks committed to playing that end.
Back to Justise, You say these hyperbolic statements like " he's missing shots that 16 year olds miss". That stuff scratches my head man, I've seen vets in this league like Sefolosha, Wes Johnson, Rubio, and others brick the same shots worse than Justise. DeAndre Jordan is 7 feet tall and can literally only dunk. Justise is 19 with the athletic tools available, can play defense, decent passer, has BBALL IQ, acknowledges his faults, by all accounts has a great work ethic, mature beyond his years with savvy vets and better skilled young guys surrounding him. He has terrible footwork, terrible touch around the rim, a jumpshot that needs tons of work and a shaky handle. The upside is there and it's massive.
It's just that when you make the kind of huge, hyperbolic overarching, conclusive claims that you've made it's hard to look at that as constructive and not hating man. But like you said, you hope that he gets better and that's the end of that.
