I like this trade though I assume Terrance Jones is another guy that if he does well, we need to find cap for (no bird) while Pelicans get the team option to get a player in Ellington that fits far more of a need. So even with the salary savings, we should probably get more.

I must say I though Terrance Jones was doing better than he is though after looking at his numbers. Looks like he's trying to become a stretch 4 but that shot may be out of his range (shooting 25% or so from three).

Heat get: Lillard, Okafor, Henderson

Blazers get: Whiteside, Illyasova, Bayless, the least valuable of Philly's 1st rounders

Sixers get: Dragic, Evan Turner

Heat get a ton of young potential, Blazers get a top center + 1st rounder + Illyasova's expiring + shed one of their ridiculous contracts, Sixers get a top-tier PG in his prime and on a friendly contract to lead a playoff berth next season

Ok, so you still traded Dragic and Whiteside for Lillard. Henderson doesn't make it a better deal. Okafor isn't worth the difference between Dragic+Whiteside and Lillard. So, first to say no is the Heat.

Second to say no are the blazers, who now don't have a PG besides Shabazz Napier. Ew.

Third to say no are 76ers who give up Okafor and a first for Dragic (which isn't bad), but then add Evan Turner's contract, which is not interesting at all.

So, my answer is all 3 say "no."

Good work. That's the sign of a decent trade. I still say no, no, no.

Well it's not even a rumored deal so I won't waste much time arguing about it. I'll just say that I completely disagree with you if you value a duo of Dragic/Whiteside over Lillard/Okafor going forward. The latter is younger, less expensive in the short-term, and has a higher ceiling.

Yeah but odds are that I'll be unhappy if they do, and unhappy if they don't.

Generally speaking my glass starts off half full, and leaks from there.

If we don't end up with three more lottery picks by Thursday, I'm going to be pissed.

Some of us have watched every Heat game for years and years - so every Goran heat game and many when he played in Phoenix too.

I'm not saying one lot is right and the other wrong, the answer is probably in between. I just find it amazing that he is seen so differently by fans of the same team.

I fully understand that fans are also influenced by the recent win streak which is mostly against weak teams without fully realising that we are a losing team with no leader.

We obviously couldn't. We got rid as we preferred Okari. Williams got picked up off the scrap heat.

I opened my Opera browser and read a trade rumor about Wade being traded back to us.

No Thanks.

Feel_the_Heat15 wrote:Heat are 25-32 and Blazers are 23-33 so unless we're also getting a superstar(Durant, Harden etc.) and a 3rd star(Giannis, Griffin etc.) to form a young offensive behemoth there's no point in trading Whiteside and Dragic for an overrated 1-dimensional shot-chucker. Lillard's good but not good enough to consistently lead a team to the playoffs. If Lillard was on the 2010-2014 Heat teams he probably wouldn't even play because of his terrible defense. Rather trade Dragic and Whiteside for 3 mid-to-late 1st round picks.

Your whole assessment of Lillard is absurd.
The blazers took a step back this year but lets not forget that Lillard carried them to the 2nd round last year and played arguably his best basketball vs the best team in the NBA. Lillard would also be the best pg we've had since Hardaway.

Also Dragic is arguably a worse defender than Lillard.

If it was possible a Lillard-Whiteside duo would be much better than the current Dragic-Whiteside duo.

I love Goran but I also love the idea of selling high. Dragic is on the wrong side of 30 so we either go all-in and try to make a run in the next few years with Dragic or we should try to trade him now when his value is peaking.
