The US/Slovakia game will be on TSN tomorrow at 8:00. Some of you may be interested to tune or tape so that you can see some of the top prospects play for the US. The winner will play Canada on Friday at 8:00 on TSN.

The US ended up winnning 7-2 and will play Canada tomorrow in the semis. These 2 teams played earlier and it took a late goal from Canada to push the game to overtime. They ended up winning in a shootout but they were outplayed and I would not be surprised if Canada loses tomorrow. There will be a lot of top prospects playinbg in this game and you should tune in if you can. Colin Wilson played really well today and I can see why he is so highly ranked for 2008.

Canada and the USA are going into overtime yet again. It's been a pretty entertaining game thus far.

The US took it to us in the overtime period and now it is going to a shootout.

The US wins it in the shootout. The US are the only team I worry about playing in these Junior tournaments and they always seem to give us the most trouble. I want to win one of these Under 18 tournaments just once. I know we won it a while back but I was not following it then.

I would like to add that I had never understood the hype JVR was getting until this game but he looked great from the 3rd period on and he is a great skater for a big guy. He just skated right around a couple of our players like they were just standing still.

The reason why the Americans look so good is because this team is together all year round, where as our canadian team is a bunch of players that miss the playoffs and are put together just prior to the tournament. Usually the teams that know eachother will win out. It's tough for Canadians to win it when some of their best players are still in the playoffs.

I do not think that is it at all. I find that they outplay us even in the World Juniors and they do not play together year round in that tournament.

Yes but they are still coming up through the system together. Most of the players you see on the world Junior teams came from their under 18 program. They know eachother. Where as the canadians get 1 or 2 weeks a year to get to know eachother.

Everything that I could find is on this link if you ant to know anything else. The MVP was supposed to be on the same link as the top players but it was not there for some reason. I am guessing it was Cherepanov though because they never give the MVP and the top forward award to the same person for some reason.
