Thought I'd post this prematurely to give this thread a little exposure before everyone clears out after the Finals. Even at this point I got some thoughts on what I'd like to see happen, but I'm gonna wait until the seasons over before discussing any of them.

Letang may be available apparently. I would have some interest dependent on the price. I am guessing Pittsburgh would want a defensive minded D and a prospect forward.

Would certainly inject some more offense into the team; Letang has the tools to be a capable defender also, put him with Chara, Julien and the Bruins system and he could.

Apart from the dream scenario, we have $9.5m cap space and need to resign Rask, Horton, backup Goalie and a 7th forward. Think we need to shed some salary.

Carl Soderberg should be ready to take a position on the 3rd/4th line ... making one of Peverly, Kelly, Paille expendable (cap savings there).

Krug, Hamilton and Bartkowski will have a larger regular season role Id imagine also - so we can lose Ference or try and resign him cheap and move out a higher earning D?

Few options to look at but Rask & Horton are priorities.

Anyone know how Subban is doing also?

Kelly and (I think) Peverly have no trade clauses which could be a problem. Theyre only partial NTC (whatever that means) but still, why the hell would Chia EVER agree to that for a bit player.

Havent been following Subban's OHL career too closely this past season but I know he had a rough go of things with Team Canada at the WJCs. Im not at all concerned about it (Dougie didnt fare too well there either), but I know people up in Canada were freaking out about it.

EDIT: He went 11-4 with a .933 SV% and an OHL best 2.00 GAA.

EDIT2: According to capgeek.com Kelly has a full NTC and Peverly has an 8-team NTC that expands to 15 teams in October. No idea what teams he has listed.

During the trade deadline there was a tweet by, I believe, Joe Haggerty saying that the Bruins were looking into acquiring David Clarkson. Can't state enough just how much I'd love this move.. guy's a 30+ goal scorer AND one of the premier fighters in the game. Guy could fill in what would've been Iginla's role here and you could occasionally put him on the same line as Looch and just ride roughshod on any/all opponents. An ideal Bruins player.

I also heard an idea brought up by Haggs in a radio appearance.. and again this is not a rumor, just an idea.. send Seguin to Winnipeg for Evander Kane. Theyve had some issues with Kane up there that in the grand scheme of things aren't that big of a deal.. the kind of immaturity issues that aren't uncommon with player that young that are that good and making that much money. But then he threw out the race card which didn't exactly endear him to the organization and fans up there. Also, while this isn't why you do the deal I think having one of the best young black players in a major American hockey market could do a lot for the sport, especially locally. Kane coming to an established dressing room like the Bruins could do a lot for his maturity and we need a LEGIT goal scorer like him. Getting annoyed waiting for Seguin to figure it out.

Seguin is rumored to be on the block.

Horton leaving is frustrating. Any way we can get some value for him?

Because we cant sign Horton we have near $10m in cap space - Rask will get a big deal, which he deserves and Bergeron will sign long term. Can we now afford to keep Ference or Jagr?

The core of this team is:
Rask - Chara - Seidenberg - Lucic - Krejci - Beregeron - Marchand
To me those 7 guys are untouchable, if trading Seguin improves the team then I am all for it.

I'm so-so on Horton because of his injury history and slumping. I'm not sure about Seguin because he shows flashes but then he's SO frustrating and soft at times. His unwillingness to hit/get hit while everyone else is out there getting teeth knocked out and stitches pisses me off.

So Horton doesnt wanna play in a town where people actually care about hockey. Disappointing and his character takes a bit of a hit with me but I'm not bitter about it. Admitting the pressure's too much is better than bailing on us for the Rangers because the shoppings better or whatever. Thanks for the memories.. the 2 game 7 gamewinners and Operation Garden Ice in Vancouver being the obvious headliners.. but, man, what are you doing?

Heard on the radio that the speculation is David Clarkson's going to command more money than what Horton's expected to get and we couldn't even afford that at the moment. Hope Chia finds a way but if he's really about to make Tuukka the highest paid goalie then that may be impossible. Chia's contract negotiating skills are just terrible.. I don't think i can ever get over giving Chris Kelly a NTC.

Not excited about the talk of bringing Jagr back but I doubt it happens anyway. Absolutely LOVE that Chia's making it known that Alfie's one of his top priorities. Even at a billion years old the guy would be a HUGE addition to this team... like a Super Recchi.

Can we afford Ference? I am not sure we need him but I love the guy as a person and a hockey player.

I saw a clip on CSN of Ference saying that Chia told him that theyd like him back but it just wasn't gonna be possible financially. He didn't sound bitter about it, he understood the CBA restrictions and all that.

I'm not a big fan of Ference the player (he's okay but too TO prone for my liking) but outside of Shawn Thornton (who lives here year round) I think Ference took to this city moreso than any other Bruin. He "got it" and it always sucks to see guys like that leave. Seemed like one of the better leaders on the team and a generally interesting guy too.

Big deal going down, Seguin to Dallas for Loui Eriksson.

Like the move if we get some pieces back also, talk of us shedding some salary also.

Lucic - Krejci - Eriksson
Marchand - Bergeron - ____

That seems like the top two lines. 3rd should just have Soderberg in it and then the Merlot line.

Seguin and Peverly (salary dump for sure) for Eriksson, Morrow (decent prospect) and two other prospects.

Eriksson is a proper RW unlike Seguin and is a great fit with Bergy.
Also we have capspace now, even with Rasks extension.

I'm confused by the trade. Major shakeup.

Haven't delved into all the particulars yet so I'm really not sure how I feel about this trade yet. I admittedly know almost nothing about Eriksson. His stats look good I've read he's got a reputation as a pretty good defensive player so you know Klode is all about this move. How much capspace does this let up? It'd be amazing if we could walkaway from this with both Clarkson and Alfie. Without any numbers backing me up I'd think that's virtually impossible though.
