Looking forward to the Draft tonight. Anxious also to see if the Canes work a deal to get Jordan Staal in Carolina to play with his brother Eric. Both Staals, Jeff Skinner and Cam Ward would be a terrific nucleus for the Canes. :D

Draft tonight! Looking for a C at #8. Do they go with another Kitchener player and take Faksa? Or do they get lucky and have someone like Galchenyuk or Grigorenko fall to them? Will be fun to find out!

Offers made to both Parise and Suter. Would love to get at least 1 of them.

I find it odd that he only signed a one year deal. He cleary wants to be there and they seem to like him too.

I liked Corvo from his previous stints in Carolina.

Suter and Nash is what we are waiting on now.

Signed Marc Andre Gragnani to a 1 yr deal for $800K. Defenseman who is only 25, drafted by Buffalo in 3rd round in 2005.

Little more depth. 2 year 2 way contract with Chris Terry. He is a 23 year old Forward who led the Charlotte Checkers in pts and assists last season.

Canes sign Zach Boychuk (forward) to get depth. And then extend Jay Harrison (D) for 3 years at $1.5 mil per after he plays this season at $700,000. Good deal for both the Canes and Harrison.

Canes get their wish. Signed Semin to a 1 year $7 mil contract. They wanted him, but only on a 1 year deal. Good get by the Canes.

Canes on the verge of extending Skinner for 6 years. Has one yr left at over $1 mil. The extension is expected to be around an AAV of $5.725 mil. Good for both sides.

The deal is now signed. Very good news.

Looks like a lockout is inevitable right now. Just a couple days left, and the parties are far apart. Crap!

OUch! Tuomo Ruutu, one of our key Forwards, recently had hip surgery and will be out until May. That hurts.

Hurricanes making moves. Acquired Kevin Westgarth to add toughness, and traded Anthony Stewart and a 2013 4th and 2014 6th. Then, they go for some youth by trading with Flyers for Luke Pither in exchange for Boucher and Alt. I like the deal for the Canes. They are trying to give themselves every shot at making a strong playoff run.

Disappointing season almost got a whole lot worse. Eric Staal sprained his MCL and will be off skates for 3 months. No tears, so no surgery, just rest. Should be ready to go at start of next season. Whew!

Canes have signed 1st rounder and #5 overall pick Elias Lindholm. Expect him to be on the Canes opening roster.

Canes also sign Jared Staal to a 1 yr 2 way contract. He is the youngest of the 4 Staal brothers at only 22, and now 3 of them play for the Canes.

Bad news. D-man Joni Pitkanen out for the season with his heel. Just not healing right. Not what we needed at all.
