We've extended our keeper through 2015-16. 6.3m per on average, 37.8m total.

Hope this works out better than the Panther's extension of Delhomme!

He's a great goalie, but that seems like quite a lot of money. Looking here: http://www.nhlnumbers.com/sort.php?pos=G&type=none

He's actually has the 2nd highest cap hit for a goalie in the NHL. Seems a bit much for a non-playoff team.

This team is quite young, and the addition of Skinner has made this a very dangerous team. I think the Canes are very much in the playoff hunt this year. And when it comes to the playoffs, you need someone like Ward between the pipes. He was the reason we won the Cup a few years ago.
