What a shame that Greece's PG's didn't show up till final minute and were more focused on bricking shots than passing to their best player.

Damn, Giannis had a great game. Seems like they barely use him offensively though.

I'm so glad that Greece got disqualified.

Now Giannis won't have to deal with these **** retards who for some obscure seniority agenda ignore their incredibly more skilled teammate and lose to goddamn Pau Gasol and half a dozen 4th string scrubs, at least for another year and hopefully until things change.

Woohoo!

Our coach is really not a good one afterall, really terrible choices, no times outs during game to organize our offense .
We didnt even play via Giannis when he had a clear missmatch vs Fernandez, sooo stupid.

Wait to go full, too bad for you that this means that Giannis will play even more now instead of resting during off season but ok.

So many bad shots by the greece pg's....Giannis is a beast maybe they know now that they need to feature him more in the offense he had like 17 boards crazy. His shot looks great also and best of all he will make back to Milwaukee healthy

Sorry, I'm not really sure what either of those sentences mean.

So I didn't watch any of the games, but is there any concern that Giannis is disappearing for stretches by those that watched the games? That was a problem for him last year at times, and if he wants to be great (which I do believe), he needs to assert himself and play with more energy more often.

Thoughts from those that watched the games?

He was ignored by the Greek guards. You can't assert yourself if you are wide open and someone would rather "dribble, dribble, dribble, 3...2...1... contested 3!!!" He was completely all over the place today, best player on the court. It's up to the coaches to utilize his skill set.

It means that your comment was foolish.
With this loss Giannis will play for the 5th-6th place and after that he will play at the Pre olympic tournament which he otherwise wouldn't.....

Pretty much this. Hard to judge his assertion when a majority of his touches came from offensive rebounds.

he was by far the best on the court, he was defending like a beast, good on offense heck even hustling.
Too bad that our coach and guard simply didnt want to play via him.

If energetic giannis reminds me a little of Anthony davis swarming around the basket.. I like to see all those rebounds

he is still trying to balance being a good teammate, filling the role the coaches have set forth, and getting his.

Greece offensive sets are mostly PnR, with Giannis on the weak side
fast breaks and coast to coasts, are still where Giannis excels
he is reading the game really well, and knows when to cut and get to a position where he can make something happen

the 2 things that stood out to me, from this tournament
-his 3pt form is great, and he doesnt hesitate on taking it
-his rebounding is top level. he gets into position, boxes out, and gets to the ball first

this is a great stat line
12pts, 17rebs, 1asi, 2stl, 2blks, 4to

and thats with the most minutes in the game, but with low usage

He's a little unselfish to a fault, however. If he's the best player on the court (and he is) then he could probably stand to force the issue a bit more. He often doesn't even think to make a move when he gets the ball at the top of the key. He could have called for a clearout or try to take his guy into the post.

That said, he was largely ignored.

It takes a bit for veteran teams to trust a 20 year old kid. I don't think he can be demanding yet unless he wants to have everyone on the team hate him.
