You sure you were on this board? Because those middling pre Giannis seasons and even the Giannis emergence Kidd years we're absolutely cutthroat around here .

Nostalgia gives everything a rose colored tint I suppose.

Then, I read Prince covered the opposing point again. Trae went 4-16, probably cuz of length, but had 19 assists. If your d's constantly getting broken down, you're in big trouble. You're practically DOA when your coach doesn't know how to match up.

They were doubling Trae and Atlanta had absolutely no issues dealing with it.

It's in part because Prince doesn't match up that they have to double a pg like Trae. And those double teams, especially if they're late/predictable, giving up an open look, or putting your d in rotation, was the downfall (among other things) of Kidd here.

There was some blissful moments sprinkled in there around these parts for moments but I don't know how you can look back at the never ending Redd saga, Bo freakin Outlaw, Monta have it all, max contract Greg Monroe!, Skiles, Jennings PGOTF, Gooden's 4 assists, Yi's chair, Potsie headbutting the rim, Maggette's 20 FT preseason game, Google me slime, Larry's bottle service, Kidd, MCW PGOTF, Roko Leni-Ukic PGOTF, Tobias Harris, Epke Udoh's DRTG, Nate Wolters PGOTF, just wait until OJ is healthy, MONTA HURT HIS HAND, Jabari's autism, Brandon Knight PGOTF, trading a first for Greives Vasquez and whatever the million other talking points there was and think this board was a unified front even through that tint .

It seems like Prince or anyone else was not able to guard Trae one on one. That seems to be the crux of our defense problem yesterday.

I have always thought of myself as one of the biggest Bucks fans. Watched during the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s when we sucked or were just mediocre (outside of a few good years with Ray, Sam, Glenn).

But these past few weeks have proven to me some of you guys are bigger fans than me. I just can't watch this team anymore. I will watch the playoffs but I don't have any faith. Just Giannis and a bunch of scrubs with a coach who is worse than Jason Kidd.

I don't think it had much to do with Prince. They were doubling or switching high screens all game and really just seemed to want to get the ball out of Trae's hands no matter who they had as his primary. And, like, Trae, for his faults, is an outstanding passer. And they have good secondary playmakers who were finding the multiple open shooters immediately. It was not a great plan, and if the adjustment came, it was after I turned it off.

I am not the biggest Dame fan but he is the 2nd best player on the team. I don't know what people are thinking but replacing his scoring ability is almost impossible.

I agree with this thinking.

I didn’t watch the Hawks game for that many minutes; so I was wondering why our defense was so bad yesterday. That seemed to be the reason we lost. Any analysis on that? We obviously can’t blame Dame for poor defense yesterday.

You won't believe this, but transition defense was lacking.

We'll always have the championship, but the fact is the window has firmly closed.

If I was Giannis I wouldn't want to stick around for a rebuild, and trading him while he still has 2 years left on his deal should net a much better haul than when he only has 1 year left. I love the freak but the time to make a move is this summer. Hopefully Dame can come back next year and with an offense centered around him he can regain his trade value before shipping him off at the deadline/next offseason.

Reload the cupboards the next few years and hopefully by 28/29 they can contend again.

Since its been all dames fault in your deluded mind thst the bucks have been losing cant wait to see who you blame now last night to the knicks though if i know you you will still blsme dame for losing .Bucks gsve up 143 points who is you blame guy now

Even with the last 2 games, the Bucks are still better for the season with Dame off the court, and still dramatically better defensively.

However, I've never once contended the Bucks are better without Dame, Portis, Sims and Green out.

Fred Van Vleet and Tari Eason would have needed to Monstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jayson Tatum to save this thing.

I wasn't the one who pined for FVV, just to clarify.

I always supported the Jrue trade because I believed Dame did have trade value. Here Dames impact is limited by the way he overlaps with Giannis best skills. On other teams he helps.

Also, Dames on/off numbers remain the same as they were when he went out with injury, so I don't know who we got tasting the milk.

It's kind of weird to act like we lost because we missed Dame in the thread of a game where his 2 replacements scored 38 points on 18 shots with 10 assists and 3 turnovers while being the only 2 players on the entire roster who showed defensively.

Defense the last 6-games since Dame went out is 10th worst in the league, and that's with them "holding" that G-league Lakers team to 89-points doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Take that out and we've literally been a bottom-5 defense (26th), lol. But hey, just wait until Jericho Sims gets back, or something...

The defense was bottom 6 in the league with Dame on the floor, so you just showed that even in the ugliest stretch, including a long road trip and a pile of injuries to our bigs, the defense is still better without Dame. Thanks for doing that Ron.

Lot of intense agendas. Easier to just recognize that the roster is flawed/aging and has been mishandled since the clock struck 0:00 after Game 7 @ Boston.

I spaced the game off but when I saw the score, I decided to watch just the 44pt 1st qtr for **** and giggles.
Lisa and Novak praising the KuzGod was pretty funny, especially after he hit that crazy moon shot. The least surprising thing about looking at the box score after that quarter was seeing Kuzma went 2 for 11 in the final 3 quarters. It was also pretty easy to see how ATL ended up with 145 points after seeing the 1st quarter defense. Rock bottom.

Guys, I'm just curious if there's still any amount of winning, from here on out, that would make us say " Maybe there is a Dame problem?"

I think this game gave me some closure. When Giannis asks out this post-season, that's a wrap from me. 20+ years from the magical 2001 run that re-ignited my fandom, only to see it crushed by Anthony Mason in 2002. Don't have much time for this stuff anymore and the "DNP Coaching Decision BS" of the new era. I'll keep watching, for now, but its with a side-eye at this point.

Dees suck, too.

Both teams won a title though in 2021, I have my closure. Never really expected either team to become long term competent.
