Rumor: Bogut/10 To T'Wolves For 2

Postby europa on Fri Jun 17, 2011 1:47 pm

This was posted in the lotto thread but I didn't think it should get buried there. This is just a rumor but here's the info coming from a radio guy in Minnesota:

Sounds like one of MANY deals that has been discussed: 2 for Bogut & 10. No clue who initiated. Remember, one of many talked about. #Twolves

Good chance there would be other parts. AGAIN, one of many discussed. RT @mattdeedrick: @DarrenWolfson what else would #wolves give up?

Can't stress enough based on replies: Teams are talking moves constantly. The talks w/ Milwaukee = one of many possible outcomes next week.

As I posted in the lotto thread, I think Bogut/10 for 2 is giving up too much. My offer would be Bogut for 2 straight up or Bogut/10 for 2/20/future first or a decent player.

I wouldn't love the deal, but I'd do it.

Credit to Bogutneedsball for the original info in the lotto thread.

If I had to speculate, my guess is - assuming the rumor is true - the T'Wolves initiated this which is why the 10th pick is being mentioned as well as Bogut. I would be surprised if the Bucks would offer up Bogut and the 10th pick.

that would be terrible. There would need to be other parts from the wolves. Im not sure i would do bogut for 2 straight up, much less give up 10

I agree. Too much.

Getting outmuscled too much in the paint was a reason we rolled the nice on Gooden. I shudder to think how bad that problem is when Gooden and Sanders have to put in more time at the 5.

What if the filler is Pekovic and Wes Johnson? I jump all over that.
"I just wanted to play because I just love the game," Jennings said. "It doesn't matter to me. I get up to play basketball. It's my job. I have to still be a professional and finish the season."

I'd ask for Nikola Pekovic and Anthony Randolph to be included...and then still probably turn it down.

In terms of talent, it's a slam-dunk awful trade for the Bucks - and I like Williams. Bogut is vastly superior. I think you'd do the trade if you basically just want to try something new. That's the only reason I see for doing it. But given how great the talent disparity is between Bogut and Williams in my opinion, there's no way I would include the 10th pick without getting back what I wrote. I think Bogut/10 for 2 is a pretty poor trade for the Bucks.

I don't want to give up the 10 but this would actually signal a direction and probable rebuild for the Bucks so I'd do it.

Seems like too much but I'm all for anything that blows things up. Sometimes you have to roll the dice. After 3 years the "Hammond plan" isn't working.

Yup. We'd be terrible next season, and I'm more than fine with that.

For some reason I feel like we would get the 2nd pick and take Kanter. I would absolutely hate that.

I would not trade Bogut + Brooks/Biyombo/Burks/Thompson/whoever for either Derrick Williams or Enes Kanter. Absolutely not. I would not trade Bogut by himself for just Williams or Kanter either.

As Minnesota and Milwaukee fans have discussed to death on the trade board, Bogut for 2 + other assets has some real potential. It's just a matter of determining what those other assets are.

The good news if this rumor has some legs is that it means Milwaukee HAS to be considering a rebuild. No way would we trade Bogut if we wanted to make the playoffs next year.

Blowing things up is not in the cards until at least next offseason, or the trading deadline. And if you are going to blow things up, you deal Bogut for expirings and add a pick, don't trade up to #2 in a draft without a "tier 1" player.

Jury's still out for me on Hammond but this would be worse than just about anything he's done so far, IMO.
