Draft Express: Ilyasova Available For Late 1st/2012 1st

Not sure where to put this one but it's a new development and a very smart one by Hammond in my opinion. Draft Express is saying Ilyasova is available for a late first or 2012 first.

Let's see if anyone bites assuming nothing goes down with Houston or another team.

1. I like the idea of us offering him up.
2. I don't think he's worth that much, so I doubt other teams would offer any first rounder for him.
3. But I hope they do.

If Hammond gets something and Ersan wants out I wouldn't hate the move. God I hope we get a lottery pick in 2012. I don't even need a good one but like the 12th would be awesome

I am assuming he wants the buyout from Milwaukee because he is probably going to be behind Moute, Gooden, Sanders, Bogut and possibly another first rounder/free agent.

He's heading into the prime years of his career and doesn't want to spend them rotting away on the bench of a losing team.

Depends on the team. If Ilyasova was traded to a contending team do you really think he'd want a buyout? I don't.

True, but do you think a GM would take that risk?

I could maybe see a first round pick for him this year, but not next year. Who would give a 2012 first rounder for Ersan even if he was content on staying with a team in the NBA?

I'd take a 2012 1st before a 2011 1st. A 2012 1st would be pretty sweet.

Ersan isn't that good.

I concur, just the timing of this trade report isn't the greatest right after the buyout one. No intelligent FO should send a respectable deal our way.

Again, it depends on the team but if it was a contending or strong playoff team I don't think there's much of a risk. I don't think Ilyasova would want the buyout. Besides, he's under contract for next season so he's not going anywhere then anyway.

I'd do that in a heart beat. Than pray to all that is holy Bioyombo is still on the board and pick him at 14

.

Than to keep going with my imagination at the moment, trade sanders for one of Brooks/Burks/Thompson.

I don't think it will happen, but wouldn't be totally shocked if we got a pick in the late twenties for him.

I wouldn't be shocked either. I just don't think it will happen. There is no way if I am any of the GMs in the NBA I am giving up a first rounder for Ersan.

Maybe, MAYBE if I am ready to contend and I feel the only missing piece to the puzzle is a mediocre stretch 4 that isn't even that good of a shooter.
